Not sure how realistic it might be, but I'd love to see Joel Curtis come in for Marsh next game. He's had some good limited over form in the One Dayers from what I've seen.

Did well to maintain the outrageous run rate Connolly and Allen set despite losing wickets consistently

Batters coming in kept swinging knowing there were still wickets in hand

Brilliant batting performance

Score is chasable, they have 50 overs so need to rush.

Oh wait.....

So Laura Kane obviously handing out the overs to the Queenslanders I see ...... complexed.

Yep. Assuming Poms dont bowl us out I reckon we bat into the 3rd session tomorrow. Goat will have a field day on a day 5 pitch plus we grind them on a short turn around into Boxing Day.
My thoughts exactly.

We are at that point in a five match series where fitness and fatigue can have an impact. If we can keep them in the field for most of a day toiling away in hot (shame it's not going to be 40+) conditions then it helps us win this test and knocks the stuffing out of them for the next two.
Note that Stokes didn't bowl in 65 overs of the third innings and looked shot in the field. Archer also looked knackered. If we can get another 60-70 overs into them then we should.
The Adelaide pitch is famous for breaking up on day 5 so that is another reason to bat as long as possible. Fourth innings scores are notoriously low in Adelaide but everything says bat them out of the series if we can. Now is not the time to have them make a record run chase. How embarrassing would that be for the match and the series if we let them pull it off?

And the obvious thing...
why give them even a sniff if it can be avoided?
