On a side note, anyone watch the season launch on Fox?
Whoever the president of the Cats is these days was giving a speech, mentioned Harley, McCartney, Stuart Fox as being part of last years premiership for what they gave to the club earlier, and, unless I missed it, not one mention of Bomber Thompson.
Pretty disrespectful.
Especially in light of Bomber's comments to Robbo today (yes, I actually enjoyed one of his articles).
GWS' Full Back, can't remember his name, looks the goods.

was thrilled I whacked him in the old SC on Friday![]()

i can't agree with the chris scott comment.took over a team that hadn't won the premiership the year before.everybody thought they were too old and to not have ablett junior was a pretty good coaching feat. The thing with Buckley is that the margin for error is minimal, and the pressure is intense. Hird's and Voss's positions are almost preferable, since
A: They have more of a free swing since the teams are in dire shape (mind you, Voss has put them there and he's in a different category)
B: If they do accomplish anything, it'll be with their team. Buckley is in the Chris Scott/Alan Joyce position where yes, a premiership would be an accomplishment, but history will remember them as Thompson's and Jeans' teams respectively, that were inherited. Of course, a premiership is a premiership and that accomplishment in and of itself would be mighty, but on the other hand if they do not suceed immediately the club will come under heavy fire and Bucks will garner more vitriol than he probably deserves.
I'm... quite comfortable with the whole arrangement, honestly. If they do fall though, it will be the most hilarious instance of hubris in living football memory. I don't think they will, but a man can dream.
