If we don't make top 4 there is a better chance we will have to play interstate the next game anyhow... I really don't get what you're saying.
The best way to avoid going interstate is to win games and finish top four. Either first or second, or the one that matches where the Pies end up. It is unlikely that two interstate sides will finish 1-2 on the ladder. Which means there will only be one interstate game, or none, for the top four teams.
if we came 5th and beat 8th at home we would go on to play 4th (assuming they lose) away. Then a win there would take us to a prelim against one of those big gun sides away.
It all means nothing anyway, because we dont know where sides will place. If we finished 5th and played Nth.... then Wce (1st) beat collingwood (4th) we would play Coll in Melbourne again... then onto a prelim away. it would sound slightly appealing...... but im sure the cards woudnt fall that way anyway.
i'm back on the right wagon... i'm shooting for top 4 again!
i'm not sure a melbourne side would end 4th anyway...even though collingwoods % is far inferiour to the sides below them.. if they slip up one game they drop from first to 5th atm.
the ladder is so compact right now, i love it!
