If we don't make top 4 there is a better chance we will have to play interstate the next game anyhow... I really don't get what you're saying.

The best way to avoid going interstate is to win games and finish top four. Either first or second, or the one that matches where the Pies end up. It is unlikely that two interstate sides will finish 1-2 on the ladder. Which means there will only be one interstate game, or none, for the top four teams.

if we came 5th and beat 8th at home we would go on to play 4th (assuming they lose) away. Then a win there would take us to a prelim against one of those big gun sides away.

It all means nothing anyway, because we dont know where sides will place. If we finished 5th and played Nth.... then Wce (1st) beat collingwood (4th) we would play Coll in Melbourne again... then onto a prelim away. it would sound slightly appealing...... but im sure the cards woudnt fall that way anyway.

i'm back on the right wagon... i'm shooting for top 4 again!

i'm not sure a melbourne side would end 4th anyway...even though collingwoods % is far inferiour to the sides below them.. if they slip up one game they drop from first to 5th atm.

the ladder is so compact right now, i love it!

Every game is vital at the moment. It's amazing, there are pretty much no meaningless games outside of the GC/GWS/Melb/Port/WB round robin ones.

I take heart from the Football Park win last year though. Thus far Hird's Essendon has won everywhere bar the SCG and Stadium Australia.
When you consider we may as well have had the four points plucked from our hands by the three men in white, we've got each ground ticked off.

Eh. We were up by 4 goals or so. Shouldn't have squandered it.

No we shouldn't have, but that doesn't make the umpiring that day any less competent.

Hate that line. We weren't 10 goals better, we were 2 or 3, and we lost because of umpiring.

Simple.

If we finished 3rd or 4th would love an away final in week 1 or 3 in Sydney, very winnable, think Adelaide is quite winnable, WCE very tough.

Think we can win pretty much any game, lost to Collingwood by one point and had 78 inside 50's against the Swans, that's like 4 off the all time record against a top 4 team.

I just heard the Carlton supporter in tears on SEN after Friday night.

It was just on AFL 360, I recommend catching it just for it.

the sports news on the radio was awesome today, i think i heard "Carlton has lost 4 in a row and slipped to 10th on the ladder" about 10times. Normally news gets a bit old after hearing it that many times, not that piece though! made me smile everytime..

I have two weeks leave from work at the moment, so I decided to take a jog. Anyway, turning the corner into another street, I spied a guy doing a spot of gardening.

Also spied a tired, sad looking Carlton beanie on his head.

Couldn't resist a sneaky "carn the bombers!" as I ran past.

CARLTON Twitter rebel Brock McLean has revealed one follower urged the him to hang himself after the social media storm that erupted last week.

In what McLean says is a clear example of the abuse AFL players are subjected to via social media sites, the 26-year-old admitted his crude retort to another fan last week had "clearly overstepped the mark".

But vowing not to change his irreverent style via his Twitter account @dirty14, McLean also revealed concerns that less experienced players may be seriously affected by abuse dished out by followers, in what he saw as clear cases of ‘cyber bullying’.

"There was one guy, an Essendon supporter, said that I should be playing local footy - and then at the end of the tweet said I should go hang myself,” McLean told the club website.

With the Blues facing a crunch clash with Collingwood this Friday night and coach Brett Ratten under massive pressure, McLean’s actions were far from what the struggling Blues needed.

But the former Demon was unrepentant about his social media persona. "The idea of retweeting this stuff is to get these trolls out there known, so they don't tweet stuff like that to people,” McLean said. "If those people were face to face they would not say that stuff - they all tough guys behind a computer.

"I think you've just got to be a little bit smarter, (but) I'm still going to be who I am.

"People complain, mainly media people, about players being boring, but as soon as you say something a bit different or speak your mind or speak an honest truth suddenly they tarnish you a little bit or give you a bit of a bad whack.

"You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't really."

Absolutely distasteful and weak, however if this turkey and others didn't expect to cop shit from the largely anonymous tweeting public, they were just kidding themselves. Not saying it's 'right' that people act this way while anonymous on the internet, just saying it is what it is. Stop using it or just cop it on the chin, because reacting like that and carrying on like a pork chop will just give these sorts of people the jollies and encourage them to continue.

The problem with this is that nuns, like everyone else, still need to pooh.

Reminds me of a true story (bro). About 8 yrs ago, I was in my second year of uni and during hols I went and did some building work with an old builder who lives next door to my mum back home. We were working on a renovation of a nun's convent in Beechworth. Upstairs we were doing the bathrooms and new bedrooms, and downstairs the concreters were doing the garage floor. I needed to do a crap really badly, and the boss said to use the toilet beside the kitchen. Little did we know, the plumbers had disconnected the plumbing for it. About 5 minutes after I'd finished, the boss comes upstairs where I was working and he was pissing himself laughing. Literally he could not speak for about 2-3 minutes, which seemed like AGES at the time. The massive log had come out the pipe in the garage and landed straight on the top of the fresh slab of concrete, not yet set. As the concreters were coughing and spluttering cleaning it up, the boss told them it was one of the nuns. One of them goes "no nun could've done that! It's like an exorcism".

Still makes me lose my shit (npi) to this day. :D
