Wins a lot of taps and to advantage- knows how to use his body well
Excellent pick up by the look of him. He was also good in the intraclub. Apparently, Viney watched him yesterday and was impressed.

Yeah follow up work was good as well.

Also the umpiring in the vfl is still shit.
Funny thing there was no goal umpires in this game.

Just with these 5 VFL practice games, I think it gives us a opportunity to build up some of the players that the coaches think will be able to have an impact this season. Perhaps a steady approach might work in our favour for a change.

Leave the plodders like Daniel & CJ for the praccy AFL matches and before the season starts have a decent idea from these VFL praccy matches, the players that will likely contribute towards us winning games at AFL level.

Our VFL program seems to have a good strike rate of cultivating reality TV contestants. Ben Davis who was on our VFL list in 2023 & 2024 fronts up for Australian Survivor tonight!

Does anyone have any insight into how the two VFL practice games will run? Seems odd having the Richmond one tomorrow night Friday then Collingwood Sunday morning. Thinking of heading down to one but keen to go to whichever is more likely to have AFL-listed players involved

No insights, but I suspect the Collingwood game is more likely to feature some afl listed players. Total guess of course, but Sunday makes more sense.

This evening’s Coburg praccy is VFL only. Sunday’s praccy is AFL/VFL.

VFL: David Brinker-Ritchie an interesting name on the North Melbourne training list. Came out of Yarram in Gippsland and had a stint at Box Hill Hawks before crossing to the Eagles in the SANFL. The big fellow will also play local football with North Ballarat this year.

I realise that we haven't listed him, but how close is DB-R to AFL standard. Like many of us, I'm concerned that the new rucking rules will vastly reduce Xerri's effectiveness and greatly expose our midfield weaknesses.

Long way off. In 3 years over in the SANFL he only played 15 senior games.

Played majority of games (15) in the SANFL reserves last year.

That alone suggests he is a long way off AFL footy.
