hopefully he becomes extreamly out spoken about fighter pay. As much as I love watching him fight, I'd be happy to not see him fight again if he really pushed the union angle.

He's always been outspoken about fighter pay, especially his own and how much better it is than everyone else's. Would make him seem kind of like a hypocrite if he did go down that path.

yeh but i think most of that was self promotion more than just bragging, he was just creating headlines and getting people talking about him in a similar vein to mayweather.

hopefully he can become an outspoken critic of the way the ufc treats fighters. I dont see that as being hypocritical.

He often brings it up directly either to his opponents or in front of them which makes it more than just self promotion IMO.

Can just imagine him and Conor sitting around having a laugh and big feed not giving a shit whatsoever. He'll come back in the next 1-2 years and be guaranteed 5-10 million with the hype.

Imo that's the plan and then he'll fight maybe 5 more times and be done forever

Any chance this is a pure publicity stunt and banking the Diaz fight for NY with possible as well?

Seems like UFC isn't big on 200 anymore and NY is the big PPV of the year.

More than happy to be corrected but while there is some good fights, 200 certainly won't be the strongest card leading up to it?

Ariel now saying multiple sources agree that Conor will fight again. When, How, Where...nobody knows.

If this was a publicity stunt...Its kinda backfired. I mean, Everybody has been calling him for that tweet

What it seems to be Connor won't do the any media, UFC wanted to do a mini world tour Like weidman v Anderson 2. UFC has to make a stance they are the brand there is also sources out there saying 10 mil is what he is after. That's another sore point all the fans including a lot on this board want a mega card giving Connor that kind of money that's it other fighters are going to get screwed.

There is a bigger fight going now what's bigger UFC brand or McGregor he is the biggest star but what is he with out the UFC. He goes out and promotes himself what's he going to do. Look at the complaints now when a card is not staked ?

Dana said it's got nothing to do with money.

Of course he did, what else is he going to say "were not gonna pay him what he wants?"

This is about one thing and one thing only, money, potentially as Helwani put it the death of the fighter last week has made him rethink exactly how much money he should be getting but make no mistake. Whether they wanted him to do a world tour or not he wants to get paid and up to this point the UFC has given him everything he wanted so why would he think now would be any different.

Conor is making his stand on what he thinks he is worth and Dana and the UFC are making their stand on what they think Conor is worth. In subtext you have on one the most shrewd arrogant fighters weve ever seen who has never backed down in his life and you have one of the most bullish, crude CEO's who has never been shy about telling a fighter to go f**k themselves, so how well do you reckon negotiations are going to go there.

Conor wants $10m (or whatever), Dana only wants to give him $5m (or whatever) and they have both thrown there toys out and flipped each other off.

Right so of course it's about money and "sources said" so it must be true.

Sources said>>>Dan White.

Got it.

It is about money . Conor wanted to be compensated for the world tour and Dana being Dana said...No.
Dana White isnt this great CEO he is portrayed to be

lol I guess the UFC have not been in this situation since Brock. But it's case each party needs each other well I'd argue Connor needs the UFC more than the UFC needs him. Don't get me wrong he is making them tons of money but show will still go on however. Connor goes on and just say he wants to self promote who would he fight it just won't work

It sounds like someone is arguing whether "appearing at promotional events" includes promotional events that weren't stipulated when the contract was signed.

Still Money. McGregor goes, nah i dont wanna do that, pay me more, Dana goes, nah, were paying you enough. Its, Still, Money.

10 million he wants they say.

Imagine the free advertising the UFC got yesterday worldwide. Millions of dollars worth. Good publicity, not exactly, but you know what they say about publicity.

I remember the AFL media saying that the money they paid for Karmichael paid for itself in exposure of the AFL in the first 24 hours. This has had 161k re-tweets (& getting 1 more every second) of his tweet, on every news outlet the UFC was mentioned (ones I've never heard mention the UFC before).

I think this is a savvy move by Conor to let the UFC see just how far & wide his reach is.

And by what we've seen in the last day or so he is certainly worth 10mil.
