Yeah, that's very true. I can't even imagine what its like to play Vanilla EU4, with no province development or the massive revamp that Art of War bought in (Oh man, client states are fun too. I love recreating, or re-imagining new nations under my control.) It just feels like a whole new game altogether.It takes them about two years of tweaking to get the game to the right standard anyway. Stellaris is a bit boring in the mid game.
CK2 has improved a damn lot too, and its amazing how much more playable HoI4 is now that the Aussies have their own ideas (so now I don't have to play as Finland and somehow make Finnish Russia by the end of the game.)
One thing Paradox does right is when they release a new game, it usually has the same features the previous game had. It's not like the Sims, where you need to get the same expansion packs over and over again.
