Not directly in Australia. Just the impending doom of the global economy and the way of life as we know it
Brexit showed you can reject mainstream politics, and stick your fingers up to the elite and globalists that are ruining every country by trying to make us become one mass mono-culture that means low wages for many with infrastructure that can't cope, all in the name of big business. So it could have ramifications in places like Australia going forwards. A vote for trump would also represent this but Nigel Farrage this man aint

I don't think going back to the 80s way is necessarily the way to stick your fingers to the man. Fwiw I'm not a fan of the EU at all but restricted closed off nations also isn't the way to go about it either

Why isn't it? Have you been to London recently?

On London WR I don't think the EU is solely to blame for the biggest problem I noticed while there which is the class divide. You don't have a real middle class or the middle class tend to battle more than that of Aus/NZ

Yeah have been living there 2013-15. It's got it's problems but it's also thriving like never before too.
You speak to the average Londoner and they'll disagree. Most can't afford to live in their own city now. Hardly any can afford their own homes. I've been waiting six months for my eye to be checked out - my life is literally on hold while I do so. The waiting lists are ****ing horrendous in this country I'm thinking of going private for the first time. Wages for many are low because of free movement from Eastern Europe. Yes the city is thriving if you are rich or a baby boomer who made mountains of cash through property, but for the rest don't give me that shit.

Your point at the end is the big reason for the class divide, the old money. All the houses myself and my mates rented while living in zone 2-3 London were British owned from old money nothing to do with the EU.

The wage thing I agree on and saw that first hand. So like I said earlier not totally against what the Brexit wants to achieve. But completely closing the borders isn't the answer either.

As for the waiting lists in the public system it's not a whole lot better in NZ mate and it's probably 1/20 the size. No Eastern Europeans causing that. Just is what it is and a flaw of the public sector in both countries

It's nothing really to do with class. While I was working in the Civil Service from about 2010 onwards I worked with a lot of young middle class kids who had come straight out of college. All they could get were temp jobs in the government and were usually let go after a year. Most of these kids were bright who had gone to university for 2-4 years. I could tell you so many things about how ****ed up this country has become mainly through being in Europe. And our politicians wanted us to remain - they must think people are stupid. If Trump wasn't such a degenerate the same thing could have happened in the US. There are many similarities

I never encountered a single problem looking for work in London and same with all my qualified mates. Sure the pay wasn't as good as at home but if you're good enough to find work you'll get work. Simple as that. Too easy to blame someone else but just because they had a Uni piece of paper doesn't make them employable

Movement was initially a good think. I welcomed the diversity it brought and the foreigners doing the low paid work the lazy Brits wouldn't do. You have two problems there though, one the welfare system in this country was/is too lax. They are making it harder now for lazy campaigners to claim benefits. And two, free movement has now led to severe overcrowding. It wasn't like a tap you could turn off when you had got enough. As you probably saw, London isn't really an English city anymore - it's basically an Internatiobal hub. Some may like that, but most nationals won't. That leads to whole other issues about security and safety - which again as you know, the powers that be label you a racist for even mentioning (and you know the type who frequent this board). I've been having to work in Hackney lately - and I can tell you I do not feel welcome there. I'm eye-balled daily and was verbally assaulted just last week. And the attack that happened in my flat - a foreigner from Africa. It doesn't really help you accept mass immigration does it?

Yeah I know what you mean about it being an international hub and parts of it feeling like you've just landed in the middle of Senegal or Kuwait but with shit weather (looking at you west ham). I'm not saying it's a perfect system but too many poms blame the EU and foreigners for them just being a bit shit and lazy. If my business degree could land me a job while living on a living room floor there's no reason a Uni graduate from the uk can't get a job. Same goes with quite a lot of other degrees and trades. I don't know why but English qualified Uni students or tradies aren't as hireable as they should be its not that there's too many coming in from elsewhere. If a company had the choice between a local or foreigner they'd rather the local if they were equally as up to it. But plain and simple they aren't and that's why Aussies, Germans, Dutch etc. are able
To find work so easy

Well I'm not sure about that - maybe they aren't going for those jobs because they think they aren't paid enough. Also to be fair the brits I worked with didn't have the particularly good degrees (media studies I remember being a popular one). Still there are massive problems mate, and it's unfair to lay the blame all at our feet. Global markets are a good thing in one respect, as in they should make the populace raise its game, but it shouldn't come at such an expense either. End of the day, as most people feel about their own country, this is our country, generations have paid taxes, fought wars and worked to get it to where it is now. You can't just cast that aside for cheap foreign labour.

To be fair I wasn't into politics as a younger man. It's rarely a young persons thing. But I respect young people who show an interest, even if it's on the opposite side to my own thoughts!

All the investment banks are moving to NYC and using 3rd party passporting post Brexit.

The EU has ****ed itself royally. They also ****ed up an FTA with Canada because a bunch of peasants in a Belgian town won't agree to it lol and they told the EU to GAGF when they tried there usual hard line we are superior to you argument. Never change EU.

This. Wake me up when it's over.
x3.

Don't care about the campaign but just worried for the world if Trump was elected. Now that there is effectively 0% chance of that happening anymore can they just cancel the whole thing and instate Clinton as president plz

Mate with degrees like that they won't find work anywhere that easy ;)

We cant do anything about the election so this why I don't care. The result will be what it is, no need to get so worked up in it imo.

I still think he is more hot air than anything else and would be more reserved once in. But then again I did think that would be the case if he became the candidate and that hasn't really happened

I dunno man, he seems a genuine maniac with no self control. If he'd tone down he'd have toned down already

Yes same, I don't particularly care about politics in general. Hadn't followed this election at all until very recently when I heard about the 'grab by the pussy' comments he made.

I do worry about what carnage an idiot like this can cause in such a position of power. I don't even know when the election is, but it seems to be dragging on and on.

Call me crazy there was a small small part that wanted to see him win (even though I don't really care) merely to see someone less qualified than lint from the dryer in the Oval office :P
