Reckon it's more since WWII. They took such a pasting but ironically it's the anglosphere countries they can't stand rather than ze Germans. It hurt their pride more being liberated by us than it did being conquered by the nazis.

Yeah, nothing you just refuted what I wrote though. The English Channel saved the Brits. The poor French didnt have the luxury of a body of water holding the Germans back. All I was saying is that you were harsh on the French.

Their defences (mainly the maginot line) was a complete white elephant that contributed massively to their defeat. The French have turned into pussies when you consider up until Napoleons defeat they were arguably the greatest fighting force on earth. Now they've endorsed that notion, by voting to be ruled under Germany again. Merkel will have Macron in her back pocket. They just lack the courage to go it alone I guess

You do realise that Britain became the global power for the very reason we were a large island off of Central Europe right? Our main power was our navy - no one could touch it for 200 years. I hope that gives you the basis to think about your assumptions on this

Yeah that doesnt have anything to do with anything.

I simply stated the Germans were super powerful, rolled across Europe and literally kicked Britain back out of Europe. Had the English Channel not being there the Germans would have swept across Britain too.

Of course everything would be different in the history of the world if Britain was attached to Europe via actual land. But it isnt, so im just stating the truth.
