8 years? He’s been in federal parliament for 25 years (and in QLD parliament for 18 years before that)

I actually got a message back from Sportsbet earlier and these are the T&C’s on their website and what was copied and pasted to me - “19.1 Subject to rule 19.2 below, all bets struck prior to the Final Field being declared are accepted on an ALL-IN basis (i.e. no refunds will apply for runners not taking their place in the final field and no deductions will apply)”

My bet type falls under the “All-In” category unfortunately. So no luck here. It sucks as the horse was withdrawn for - “Lloyd Williams has announced his Irish Derby winner, Latrobe, will bypass the Melbourne Cup and instead target the 2000-metre Mackinnon Stakes on the final day of the Flemington Carnival.” - not through injury. A bit of a sucky situation that I don’t even blame Sportsbet for. Good lesson not to bet so far out for the Melbourne Cup (actually placed on October 19th, not 3 weeks ago), though.

But hey, at least I am Greek and my name is James so today is a special day with a few gifts, so that’s something.

I'd still complain that it wasn't made clear to you that you when you placed the bet (unless it did on sportsbet). I got done on a promotion technicality awhile ago and got a free bet out of them by complaining over the phone. They are pretty reasonable and in a case like this you might get something.

Yeah, I’ll get onto that and see how I go. I am not expecting much but it’s always worth a try.

I think it is reasonable for the general expectation to be that your bet is refunded if your horse is withdrawn. I didn't know this and it really should be specified at the time of placing your bet. Not buried away in terms and conditions that 99% of punters realistically don't know about. A free bet would be a fair outcome.

Consecutive years it’s 8 isn’t it? Or is that just the Katter party stint and he was in parliament right before that too?

Nah he’s been in there non stop since the 90’s I’m pretty sure. His party was formed a bit under 8 years ago at this point IIRC (think it was put together in 2011)

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a masterpiece!!!!

It is no doubt a great game, the controls are a little cumbersome though.

Yeah, agreed. It gets a bit frustrating that you can only walk from one end of your camp to the other to get a new mission. I wish we could at least run any time.

I’ve also noticed the waypoint system doesn’t work, so I have to keep looking at the mini map when on horse. Other than that, a masterpiece definitely. Don’t know if it’s as good as the first Red Dead Redemption game but it’s a fine prequel. And John Marston sounds exactly the same as the first game which is a nice surprise. One of my favourite video game characters ever.

Looking forward to picking up Red Dead 2 but I’ve decided to play through some of my backlog first. Still got to finish Far Cry 5, Spider-Man and then Spyro when it comes out.

Yeah, so much good stuff is coming out over the next 6 weeks. Red Dead 2 a couple days ago, Hitman Season 2 in a couple of weeks and Just Cause 4 at the start of December. Assassins Creed Odyssey came out a few weeks ago also adding that. Outside of video gaming, The Shield Complete Series BluRay is coming out in the middle of December.

Very expensive next few weeks (Hitman and Just Cause 4 have already been Pre-ordered).

Towards the end of RDR2 now, in the epilogue missions. Such an amazing game and the reviewers were right when they said a 60 hour single player campaign. This epilogue is exactly the way I wanted the game to wrap up.

Ive played about 15 hours so far, in chapter 2, reckon I won’t be finished with the whole single player campaign for at least another month, maybe more.
