I'm reading Gerrard's book at the moment and to be honest it's not that great. Maybe it's because the last autobiography I read was Zlatan's but this one just feels very cliche'd and you don't get the feeling that it's coming from Gerrard himself or that he's sharing his true feelings. I'm not even halfway yet though so maybe it'll get better.

One autobiography I would recommend is Craig Bellamy's. I know he's not the most popular or high profile footballer ever, but his book is a very good read.
Really? Im reading Gerrards now and really enjoying it. Literally just read the chapter called The Slip. Heartbreaking stuff for him.

I know rival fans revel in it. But a local boy, the captain, the star, wanting to win the league and deliver for his home team after 15+ years of toiling away. Getting so close, and then it being kinda his fault. Heartbreaking for him. He was completely devastated.

Tough for a fan to read.

Rival fans im sure will love reading it.

Admittedly I'm only four chapters in and I'm sure I'll enjoy it but so far there's just been too much exposition. Plus I'm a very simple person who likes autobiographies to follow a linear timeline where as this this one (so far) looks like it's based around the 2013/14 season with the occasional tangent about a different season.

Poor Stevie probably can't remember much else :D

Well to be fair, it could have been a picture book and you still would have thought it the best book ever ;)

Don't know if its been mentioned, but Pirlo's book is absolutely brilliant. Such an easy read and a really genuine insight into what drives the man. The opposite of a cliche, and the kind of thing only he can get away with.

Yeah we were talking about it on the previous page. I'm about halfway through - definitely agree with you. It's been a great read so far.

Haha well there you go! It doesn't get too boring at any point either, think I read most of it the day I got it. There's a chapter later on when he talks about his freekicks and the influence Juninho Pernambucano had on them, really makes me keen for coaching season to start so I can get to training early and have a couple of sessions.

Yeah doesn't seem to be too long either.

Ahhh Juninho! I'd kind of forgotten about him. Best free kick taker I've seen in my time following the game. He was just incredible!

Yeah he was brilliant, even if he was a bit hidden away in France. There's a whole chapter covering it, and he tells you the technique too. Couple of great anecdotes amongst it all. Wish I'd not lent it to my dad, I want to read it again now haha.

It could be a post it note with Liverpool letterhead with some finger paint on it by an 18 month old baby, and Jod would still think it's the greatest thing in the history of the universe :D

Going to Hobart for my wedding anniversary on Sunday:)

Any ideas on must see things to do down there?
Visit the departure terminal as soon as you arrive. ;)

I liked going to the beer factory. Maybe not an anniversary thing though :p

So finally got round to seeing the new Star Wars flick. What a disappointment that was - it was literally a re-telling of the original film! Can't say I'm particularly looking forward to the "First Order Strikes Back"

I thought the end of it certainly was. I definitely didn't love it as much as some. Felt very Disney to me.

I am looking forward to seeing it again once it comes out on Blu Ray though just so I can go through it again properly.
