Im not in an arguing mood today.
Lets just disagree.

Hull advanced due to maintaining integrity in the cup.
But Leicester didn't lose the game either.

That's my belief.

Another example.

Champions league.

0-0 and 1-1

I view that as 2 draws not 1 draw and 1 win (via away goals)

away goals, penalty shootout. Whatever. It's still a draw from regulation.

Advancing via away goals is different to actually winning a match. A penalty shootout produces a winner.

Hey Jatz, trivia question at the pub tonight: "Which are the only two teams to beat Leicester City this season?"

I of course loudly objected as there are FOUR sides that have done it.
You bastard :D

How can one team advancing and the other not advancing not result in a winner or a loser? :drunk:
Depends who you ask.

Bookmakers pay out after 90 mins. So to them, we didn't lose the game, we drew it. It's why they have a separate market for 'who qualifies'.

Either way, it's an irrelevant argument being had to make Hull fans feel better about their season ;):D

Depends on what market you're betting on. In 90 minutes it was a draw and the draw is offered. Who qualifies/wins has no draw option. And hull qualified/won

The terminology is important.

It's only 'To qualify'. They don't have win in there as they don't view it as a win. Win/Draw/Lose bets are only ever offered for 90 mins of football. In games where there's the potential for extra time, they produce a secondary market of 'To qualify'.

Splitting hairs but it's technically right.

To qualify = winning the tie

Not qualifying = losing the tie

Not talking about betting markets here just common sense really. If someone asked the question who won the Australia v Uruguay qualifier for the WC what would the answer be?

This is why I started with, it depends who you ask.

Okay now that it's basically locked in that Hillary and Trump will get the nom, I'm gonna tune out of the US election coz **** me I cannot stand hearing any more about Donald ****ing Trump and his scum of the earth supporters destroying cemeteries and shit. This whole thing has left me despairing about the state of humanity. Maybe I really need to join Hillsong and hope the rapture comes soon

Hey guys, have a serious question. Will be looking after my folks dog for the next two weeks. It's been a few days already. They have gone on holiday. He started off fine but now doesn't seem to be eating and if he has, he's thrown up. He's also quite mopey - he doesn't want to go for a walk or even leave his kennel. He is quite old though (14/15)

Any ideas? Is he just having a sook?

Is he drinking and urinating a lot? If so then I think his kidneys are failing like my dog did and probably would be a good idea to get him to the vet asap, coz it's quite life threatening if it continues

For more info: basically signs of kidney failure are lethargy, excessive drinking/urination, vomiting, not eating, bad breath, etc. Coz kidneys can't process the toxins anymore and they all end up in the bloodstream making them sick and nauseous. If it's not taken care of they'd die pretty quickly, but if treated and recovered they could live for a while yet

Could be nervous if he's in new surroundings. You're best to take him to the vet just to be sure though.

Dogs throwing up normally means they're sick (explaining why he probably won't eat).

I know nothing about US politics but is it true that the Republican nomination is really going to be Donald Trump? Is it also true the Democrat nomination is definitely going to be Hilary Clinton?

This is not good.

I was doing some reading but he could possibly be depressed? Apparently the signs are being mopey, not eating and just kind of hiding.

I haven't noticed if he's been urinating a lot or drinking a lot but I don't think that's the case.

Hes still in the same place so can't be that. I'll give it another day then see what the deal is.

Yeah okay, monitoring him for a day is cool. When an old dog isn't eating and vomit back what he eats it's pretty bad news though, if it continues definitely vet time

Yes and yes
