Anyone else watching Outcast?
I've acquired it but yet to watch. I'm actually finishing off the batman animated series now haha. I really don't know what to watch next. I am currently watching Preacher, the girlfriend experience and waiting for a few shows to finish their seasons before I watch: ballets, unreal, casual, difficult people, survivors remorse, Mr Robot, Suits.

Death Of is essentially the modern day retelling of Death In. As part of the New 52 that was rebooted a few years ago (I hope this makes sense).

But they are very different stories altogether. It's great, really blew me away how dark and edgy DC went. It's a sadistic Joker, his methods of killing are more ******* crazy. I can't say who he kills though because that would spoil it.

Usually I can read these novels pretty much in one sitting. But Death Of was one of the rare ones where I needed a break. It was messed up at times.
Excellent! Might read them both then.

Watched the Killing Joke last night. The filler at the start suuuuuucked. Not to mention the odd twist that happened with the Bat and Barbara.

As for the rest of it, thought it was done pretty well. I obviously forget the comic, you mentioned the ending was different? How did the comic end again? Overall it was a decent 70 odd mins though.

I'm watching Peaky Blinders now which is decent but people keep telling me Wayward Pines is good. Might have to check that out.

I love Wayward Pines, its very far fetched but if you can get past that its a pretty interesting show.

The ending of the novel was much more ambiguous. It looked like Batman killed The Joker, or at least implied that he did.

It left you guessing a bit about whether he had to make that preemptive strike that they'd discussed earlier - who would kill who first.

The movie version didn't really imply this at all. It just trailed off from their laughter. Which is okay I guess for what it was, it was a good moment between them anyway. He finally made Batman laugh. But not quite as good as the book IMO

Yeah that's right, that's more how I remembered it. Didn't mind the ending tbh.

What did you make of the Batgirl/Batman sex thing? Bit weird haha

It was stupid. So unnecessary and out of place. I was disappointed in that and it's copped a pretty fierce backlash.

There was also a heated exchange at Comic Con a few days ago after the audience had seen it.

Depends what you're looking for exactly. Do you mean like a summary of the overall picture and like a background on each character etc?
Yeah pretty much. I remember getting an encyclopaedia of DC characters as a kid and being pretty fascinated by it but never to the point I ever wanted to read comic after comic. Just something similar really that's a summary of them all and how they link etc.

It's not exactly what you're looking for, but almost the next best thing. There are plenty of YouTubers who cover the comic book world but this one in particular summarises the key stories well:
