Michael never ceases to amaze me with his........'efforts'?

Laughed at the closing credits with the interns: "Well, I guess I learned... nothing."

When Creed features, its probably the best 15 seconds of that episode :D:thumbsu:

Overall a good start. Just hoping the Jim and Pam humour doesn't get stale.

Awesome episode.

Hope this goes on for another few seasons at least.

My fav comedy show of all time.

"You told people that I use store-bought manure, when I SHOWED you where my manure comes from."

Also..

"I made it all up."
"Even the fact that Im gay?"

I thought the whole Stanley thing was a bit out of character, but he has had a couple of those moments in the past. When he was making that admission to Michael, I thought he was being saracastic and just humouring Michael.

Andy asking Michael if he is a homosexual was hilarious, as was the parkour introduction.

Solid start, but will be an interesting series. By the end of series six we will know if it has 1 or more years left.

I dislike it when they move away from the whole "mockumentary" idea. That episode would never have screened as a documentary, so it shouldn't have been part of the series. The Deposition was when this type of writing probably started and there was a fair bit of it last season as well.

There was a lot of filler, in season 5 for me. Had some real good episodes and some real trash.

I think its definitely turned into more of a dramedy as opposed to the more straight comedy stuff of the first 2-3 seasons.

Michael asking Oscar for advice on his colonoscopy. Wow.

Apart from that pretty meh tbh.

David Wallace has stopped working for me, I don't see how someone playing the straight man could continue to employ Michael and put up with his antics. The show is beginning to stetch incredulity imo.

It's weird that Michael was so threatened by Jim's idea. Jim wasn't shafting Michael, he was putting forth an idea to Wallace whereby they would both receive promotions.

In the end, Michael turned down the idea, but Jim still got his promotion anyway. Effectively, Michael is so attached to his job that he turned down a promotion in order to co-manage with Jim.

^^^

Torrents.

We don't get the Office here apart from ridiculous 1 am Monday mornings ( ****ing Channel 10).

Thought the ep was good, solid start to the new series. The cheese cart plan was hilarious as was Andy's cousin loving confusion hahaha.

Michael did not know about the idea until after he had bad mouthed Jim. Hence, he scuppered the plan that Jim could run an office on his own. That is why they have ended up in this ridiculous, and somewhat unbelievable position.

Again, an ok episode which didnt reach many great heights. Obviously changes galore to occur this season.

Andy cracks me up.

yes we are on the same wavelength !

While I enjoy it being on and watching it, it hasnt lived up to the standards that it had in Seasons 2,3 and 4 IMO.

Pam and Jim need to go into the background its actually ruining the show IMO, solid strong couples can have a negative effect on the viewing audience.

Looking forward to Dwight getting angry about Jims new position which by the way was the wrong way to go. Giving it to Dwight would have added more to office humour than anything else. Jim has become an arrogant smug character, I could see myself smacking that guy out!, lol.

Pam likewise.:thumbsd:

I was truly in love with Pam for a while, but her confidence is a turn off, maybe thats just me that likes a woman to appear vulnerable and weak, althought she doesnt have to be like that.

Look at Seinfeld as a guide the most dysfunctional characters in the history of TV and look at the success they had.

Hell yes.

Pam needs to go back to being Pam the receptionist. Don't like seeing her and Jim together as main characters.

Background characters make this show so good. Phyllis, Angela, Kevin and Andy wouldn't work nearly as well if they were main characters. Plus every time Creed opens his mouth, even if it's for a few seconds, has me laughing.

Although i'm still enjoying the eps, hopefully the next is a really good one.

IMO best recent ep was the fire rehersal / safety day where Dwight wreaks havoc and cuts the face off the dummy, gold! :D

Yeah. I'm sure I've posted this before, but while I still watch the show and enjoy it, I'm not as big a fan as I once was.

I think it has to do with the Pam/Jim situation. Like it or not, it changed the whole dynamic of the show, and I think sometimes they pander too much to the "Jam" fans. I would love to the storyline to merely be a small subplot or storyline now, considering it was pretty much the major arc of the show within the first few seasons, but it's got to the point where it's almost at cringeworthy status.

If you read online boards relating to the show, if any show goes on which has very little to no "jam" as they call it, these rabid fans get up in arms. I think the show has always been very loyal to their fanbase, as it pretty much pushed the show along in the first couple of seasons - but I think they're a little too loyal to them.

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I hate that Jim and Pam are together, but I see it like this:

We all knew it would happen. The train would eventually get to the station, and it just seems like it's ticking all the boxes of every predictable sitcom. They've got the bun in the oven, they've had promotions, the big wedding is on the way. Obviously it would have been hard to stretch this out until the end of the series, but thinking about it now, it probably would have been an ideal way to end it.

Because the hard part will be trying to keep the Jam fans happy after the wedding, and then after the baby. Because they really can't win - if it's smooth sailing ahead, and they fade into the background, they'll be "where's the JAM???", but yet if there's bumps in the road and conflict it'll be, "HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO OUR JAM?" etc. etc.

Nonetheless, still a good watch, but now more for the comedic reasons rather than the dramatic subplots. I just hope they look more into Michael, who seems to be the anti-Jam, in that he just cannot win whatsoever.

I think its certainly turned from a pure comedy to more of a dramedy or even a straight drama nowadays. I personally dont mind the Pam/Jim (I refuse to say Jam) storyline and dont mind the amount of airtime it gets. I think the main issue was that last season there was too much relationship time. The Dwight/Andy/Angela triangle took up a lot of time, add in Jim/Pam and also the first few episodes were full of Michael/Jan/Baby and it all became a bit too overdone with all the romance I thought.

It was always gonna happen, all shows end up winding down and running out of ideas. I still think The Office has some surprises up its sleeve, but it would want to start showing them soon.

Anyone else love ep 3?

Jim finding out that Michael's job isn't so easy - Dwight trying to oust him and everyone else pissed with the bonus'.

Hope the rest goes as solid as this episode. Still want more from the others but atleast the marriage / relationship between Jim and Pam wasn't featured too heavily.

I thought this ep was ****ing awful.

Don't like the Jim/Michael power struggle at all.
