Re: The Office (u.s)

Just watched the last season over the past week. I watched the first 6 seasons in 3 days back in January and held out watching the last one until it was over so I could watch it all in one go. Hands down my favourite show of all time, definitely sad to see Steve Carrell leave the show (I'll admit I had a tear in my eye in Michael's farewell episode :o) and to be honest I don't think anyone could replace him. Will Ferrell just wasn't funny though.

Is that even possible?

Re: The Office (u.s)

I just watch the first four seasons of this show. Loved it, I cannot believe what I was missing out on. However, I don’t like Jim-Pam relationship overshadowing the show, especially in season 3. My favourite character has to be Kevin and Andy. There isn’t a character that I don’t like, which is odd

Re: The Office (u.s)

alfy!'s story confirmed:

Multiple Emmy Winner James Spader Joins the Cast of NBC's "The Office" as the New CEO of Sabre Dunder-Mifflin

Multiple Emmy Award winner James Spader ("Boston Legal," "The Practice") will be joining the regular cast of NBC's "The Office" (Thursdays, 9-9:30 p.m. ET) as CEO Robert California of Sabre, the parent company of Dunder Mifflin.

"James will reprise his role as Robert California, this uber-salesman that has a power to convince and manipulate, like a high-class weirdo Jedi warrior," said Paul Lieberstein, one of the series' executive producers and a series regular. "He'll have been hired over the summer as the new manager, but within hours, got himself promoted. Within days, he took over the company. James has an energy that is completely his own, and 'The Office' has no tools for dealing with this guy. We're thrilled he's joining our cast."

Still no word on Carrel's replacement though :(

Re: The Office (u.s)

Pretty stoked that Spader is joining the cast as the CEO. Loved him in Boston Legal.

I'm guessing it will now be an in house promotion for the boss of the Dunder Mifflin branch, with probably Jim taking over or something.

Lol as long as Catherine Tate doesn't join the cast, I'll be happy. She was painfully unfunny in the finale.

Re: The Office (u.s)

I reckon they need a quirky, cringable personality to be the boss though. Someone who sparks the idiotic moments. As much as the rest of the crew add, without the oddball extroverted boss, things are just a bit too bland.

Spader's character had some funny moments, and will make some good cameos, but he'd suck as local boss.

It's why I found the rumours of Rhys Derby to be boss to be of interest, but that seems to be an improbability now.

Not easily replaced is Carell, but here's hoping.

Re: The Office (u.s)

I can't believe people don't like Gabe. I love everything he does, from the nervousness and awkwardness to his attempts at authority.

Agreed, he makes me laugh.

"A few of them still think I'm the IT guy."

Re: The Office (u.s)

We thought we knew who the manager was, until a few minutes into the season opener….Robert California is a legend haha.

LOL @ Meredith planking under the urinals.

Re: The Office (u.s)

Decent opener, Dwight provided most of the laughs, and Andy was decent. Andy as the new manager, I wonder if that will be permanent.

Spader didn't really give me any laughs, not sure about his character.

Re: The Office (u.s)

^^^

His character is strange but quite intelligent. Initially I thought he was just a younger version of Creed, crazy and simply ****ing weird but after the speech he made regarding the list, dude's quite intelligent and might work out being CEO. Don't think his role is to be humorous though but talking Jo out of her own job, lol.

^^ dude spoiler! :thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:

I am dl it now..can't wait!

Sorry !

Thread needs to be re-named to include spoilers.
