Someone on this thread said that we should be exploiting the fact we are a team on the rise during trade periods over the coming years.....i agree with this
On the flipside to this, identifying the needs of other team and identifying opportunities that are win/wins for both teams is where we should be looking.
ie, Grant/Schwass was a win for both teams
Is the team on the decline, beginning a rebuilding process, peaking or just beginning as a club?
To me, trading someone like McIntosh to a team like Richmond, who are in a similar position to us in terms of rebuilding is probably not going to get us what we need.
Maybe looking towards a Geelong is the way to go.
Alternatively, Gold Coast provides real opportunities. GC have done a great job with Stanley and Iles. There are a few on our list that could contribute up there while their kids rise. There are so many good kids there, some will look at other clubs. We need to be there, ready with open arms.
