Fraser isn't over 200cm. Haven't seen Wood play this year, but I would be keen to give him a go. MM hates his guts.

We need a ruckman or two, I'd be happy to trade for early picks ie: Knights, Bock so we can get Dan Gorringe. I'd also be in the market for an experienced ruckman who might be at the crossroads and who can play the kick behind the play role, how old is Robert Campbell who played for Hawthorn until recently, and is he still planning on coming out of retirement?

Do you think the Eagles would be interested in a straight swap, Van Berlo for either Waters or Hurn????

I wouldn't be upset if we made a big play for Maric, but he's yet to prove he's up to it in my opinion.

I don't see the point in going for talls.

If we are going to trade I want a near elite midfielder or atleast someone who we can turn into an elite mid that already has games under their belt.

that will cost us nearly all of out decent picks so after that its just trading away players for picks to get another junior gun mid.

I'd be happy to go into the draft with 1 top 30 draft pick and traded away for a star mid.

Unfortunately Monfries signed a 2 or 3 year contract with Essendon a few weeks back.
Levi Greenwood would be a great replacement for Schmidt.
I wouldn't mind Bachar Houli.
Shaun Higgins if available definitely yes.
Schammer, Lower and Whitecross no.
Lindsay Thomas if it doesn't cost us to much.

I would easily trade NVB for Shannon Hurn on talent alone.

But there's a lot more factors than that, including NVB's leadership and club stature.

If VB decided to return back to WA he would probably to want to go to Fremantle to play along side his brother.

I'd be 100% sold on WCE being shafted in a deal that involves a straight swap of van Berlo for Hurn. If Hurn demanded out, I think we could probably get it over the line by offering van Berlo and a second rounder, and I'd still laugh all the way to the bank considering how much stronger it'd make our squad.

Sadly, it's never going to happen.

So would I but I very much doubt West Coast would want to trade Hurn for VB.

a small crumbing forward like Campbell remains the top of my shopping list, too many times Tippett's contests go unrewarded because we dont have the right type of player at his feet

next, we the exit of Goody and Macca we need a running have back who can set up play after play with run and carry, making smart decisions and hitting targets, Levi Greenwood would be a good trade option otherwise D-Mac should be consider for this role

finally, if a Knights or McKernan type of player was looking at returning home then the club should target Ryan Griffen

Shaun Hampson is the big man I would target, he's only 22 and a super athlete who can play ruck / forward.

Shane Edwards is a player that has the run and carry and skills that would be fantastic for our side

Players that I would stay away from, Fraser, Woods and Jacobs, none of these are any better to what we have...

Our trade bait.....

Sellar - I know he has his fans however with our talls I just dont see a full time role for him in our side and it may be in his best interest to find a club that lacks depth in talls which will present greater opportunity.

Knights and SMACK - I hope both will stay however I have a feeling that SMACK might seek a trade and Knights would go if their was a significsnt offer to come his way.

Radar and Douglas, both have had solid seasons however both players would not be untouchable depending on the trade

Stevens - Given that we have Davis and Talia on the list and Otten will return from injury the club may feel that they need to create opportunity for the trio of youngsters

Griff and Moran - if the club was able to attract a ruckman than one of these two could be considered as surplus to requirement, I sense the club may want to persist with Moran

I would love to see us make a serious play on a blue chip running midfielder, with Ryan Griffin being my number one target.

Maybe even Bryce Gibbs, even though that may be a bridge too far, still he has been relegated to probably third or fourth banana in that Carlton midfield behind Judd-Murphy-maybe even Simpson. Perhaps his stocks have dipped a little so that he's gone from untouchable to just highly desired and hence priseable.

Both the bulldogs and Carlton have an immediate need which Bock could fill. Big, strong running defender who can nullify the best in the biz while providing some quarter back ability. Wrap up a first round draft pick with Bock, and we should have one in the top ten with the year we are having even with Gold Coasts priorities, and that would surely be some attractive bait for a team who believes it is not far away from a premierhsip (Dogs and Blues fit that bill for mind, Blues a bit further behind but they always think they are better than they actually are).

Even if we got rejected, at least it shows we're serious about where we'
re heading. We need that blue chipper in the midfield...look at Richmond having Martin and Cotchin in there, or Melbourne having Trengrove and Scully.

I would also love to see us play for Hurn. He has that ultimate weapon attached to his right leg which would be perfect for us driving long into the forward line coming off half back. And kicks in to the middle of the ground after a point. That is a weapon we could really use, and he's a SA lad so more the better.

And to a lesser extent, Waters would be a handy addition. His hardness and leadership would be handy around the ground.

And I'm sure I heard somewhere that Worsfold has said pretty much everyone is on the table as they chase early draft picks and quality replacements.

VB and a second rounder to tempt them. Why not?

I don't think trading for ruckman would be beneficial...would anyone we got really be the type of guy to come in and do an immediate better job than what we've got?

Why would we get rid of someone who could potentially be an elite HFF for us? Someone who can kick 50m+ with no trouble, it makes no sense.
