Death Threats are simply a part of Liverpool culture:

Joachim Andersen has spoken to the police after he was bombarded by death threats and a torrent of abuse online following Crystal Palace's 1-1 draw at Liverpool.

The Eagles defender was headbutted by Darwin Nunez, who was red-carded by referee Paul Tierney and now faces a three-match ban for violent conduct.

Andersen was booked in the same incident, but took to Instagram to share what he said was a sample of hundreds of abusive messages he had received since the encounter.

Andersen says he has received 300 to 400 abusive messages after the incident on Monday Night Football.

Get headbutted in the face by a Liverpool player? That's enough for you to receive death threats from the Liverpool fans.
Get racially abused by Liverpool's star player? Death threats.
Liverpool player makes a mistake? Death threats.

Wonderful supporters those scousers.

Good on him reporting it and highlighting it, more players should do it. It’s not on.

Disgusting behaviour, but every club has these type of scumbags.

It's vindictive human nature.

Most Liverpool fans I have come across over the years are decent sorts. Not fair to tar them with the same brush as those losers.

When it’s Liverpool (or another non-Manchester United club) it’s, “every club has these type of scumbags.”

When it’s Manchester United it’s, “Manchester United have the most scumbag supporters.”

Of course Klopp never abuses opponents ot referees

That's a pretty deluded and salty response. Klopp has disagreements with referees and has shown dissent like every manager does but he does not resort to threats and abuse which he is speaking out against.

I bet you can't find a single example of abuse from him.

What it highlights to me is that people (managers and media) need to be careful with their public comments, because it doesn't take much to rile up the idiots in the football community.

So when a manager or someone in the press start highlighting or slagging off a player there can be a direct, and unpleasant consequence.

Just need to be aware of the language used and the potential that spme people will take your words just that little bit too far.

Both statements are true though 🤷‍♂️

Do they though?

Every club has some bone heads but death threats take things to another level.

I'm sure there's fans of clubs on here who can hand on heart say they've never seen or heard from any of their fans putting out death threats to anyone.

The quote was from a year and more ago. Still relevant for this incident.

Are you suggesting he sends death threats to referees?
Not at all, but fans see the abuse he gives out constantly to referees, opposition players and managers. Somehow he manages to escape punishment each time. Fans see how he reacts and then go even further in their abuse

Not sure how you can blame him for people sending death threats. Seems quite a leap.

Was more about the abuse that supporters give out. Death threats are a whole other level on top of that

Why single out Klopp though? Literally every manager does this.
