My heart is definitely with both Melbourne Victory & Liverpool. You should give Adelaide Utd a go (even though they are a bunch of filthy inbreds)
!! You wont regret it, nothing beats being involved with the club you follow every week.
Who would you rather win the league. Melbourne or Liverpool?

I know what you mean about being involved, and although it's a different sport, Port Adelaide for me fills that void, going to our AFL/SANFL games at Adelaide and Alberton Oval.

It's not the same league so what's the relevance of the question?

Guarantee you a Liverpool player scores the same goal, he froths it.
Even a Liverpool ladies player, as much as he 'hates' women's football.
Maybe you need some lessons in how to explain your opinion better. Such as I don't like women's football because the skill level is below a standard I enjoy, however if they were to catch up to that level then I would watch.
Essentially how I feel about AFL/VFL W.
Standard isn't good enough for anything more than a cursory look at the TV.

Still top up my membership with a contribution for the Women's team though.
Watched our first VFLW game (siren got stuck on for 20 mins lol) and was chuffed.

PA said "For the first time ever, we are finally one club".
Made you realise just how much it probably meant to our female fans in footy.

Those who live and breathe the game though should be getting right amongst the A League and supporting the game in Australia (or wherever they live). Anyone that doesnt is definitely a Eurosnob.
And what about people not geographically aligned to a team?
Certainly never going to follow WU, Victory or City as a non-Melbournian. Let alone a club from another state.

Not having an interest in the A-League isn't a crime if there's a reason for it.

You support a club in London you have no geographic ties to..

Technically correct, but have our roots in N17.

I support a club from where my family grew up before emigrating to Australia

My great grandfather spent time working at the club in the early 1900’s and our family name is a district in the borough of Haringey. The borough that THFC resides in.

Incorrect.

Right, but not you.

You don't have any family that have lived in Melbourne?

It's fine not to want to support one of the three clubs, but that's a pretty flimsy justification of why not.

I support a club in Liverpool I have no ties to.. until I met my missus. She has cousins born in Liverpool who are Everton fans. I'll claim it.

I think that's a different situation though.
Wollongong are never going to have a team in the Premier League for example.

Sure but if I supported Sydney FC then in a few years they made a new team in my district I'd probably change clubs. Just like people who became WSW members were probably a chunk from Sydney FC, and Macarthur probably a chunk from WSW. That's the nature of the beast with a developing and growing league.

Just don't really think not having a club in your geographic area is a particularly strong argument for not taking an interest in the league when there are plenty of other valid reasons.

Like I said before, I just personally can't connect to any team because of the fact that Wollongong could or should be in the league.

No one should have to justify anything.

Want Cruyff14 jd2010 to fill you in on my thoughts about Melbourne in general. Couldn’t give two ****s about the a league until we get our own side.

Sure but didn't you also say you're going to try and go to Wellington Phoenix games because they're playing in Wollongong?

You're right, but you tried to?

Yep, cos it's probably the best way to show that Wollongong should get a team.

Wonder if Gero has been to the WUN games in Geelong for the same reason then.

Who would you rather win the league. Melbourne or Liverpool?

MVFC if I have to choose mate. Its the team I see regularly, the team that players sign autographs for my kids.

To see who he loves more.

But I could want Hull to win the PL and it doesn't make the enjoyment I experienced when Adelaide won the GF any less?

I'm sure you've mentioned it in the past but what made you support the Reds?

I have no interest in the A League, ive tried but it does nothing for me.
It's tough because the standard is so poor. Particularly when we all follow teams full of world class players in the UK. The drop off is too significant.

Yeah it's just a hypothetical mate. Like who would I rather win the league/premiership, Liverpool or West Coast. It's just a question to find out where when push comes to shove, his loyalties lie.

Its like watching country football to me.
