This is all true but Mr Wenger talking to Keys and Gray is right.
As much as participation in ESL by all involved is flying in the face of the integrity in sport I do understand why my club did it. 6th biggest fish constantly mocked in an uneven environment where money = success.
Just look at this year, a year where no fans have resulted in club revenues reducing, clubs reported much lower results last season etc.
This year alone:
Man City: England Champions, EFL Cup winners, CL finalists.
Manchester United: Likely UEL finalists.
Chelsea: FA Cup finalists, CL finalists
Arsenal: Possible UEL finalists.
Bayern again German Champions. PSG may miss the league mostly because Tuchel had a poor start. Pirlo fails to win league, Juve look short of cash. Hence their involvement. But won it for a decade straight?
Leicester have had their best year since the title, punching above their weight, even then it may count for nothing as one of the mega rich take away their chance at a trophy.
We lost a final to the richest in the land. West Ham and Everton have had their best years in a long while yet both could still miss CL football to a richer club. Dortmund and Leipzig keep trying as hard as they can, brilliant coaches With good squads... can’t take the league off Bayern.
Atletico possibly snatching a title off RM/FCB largely due to those two being cash strapped and in need of rebuilds (Hence why they joined ESL), the coaching of Simeone, and Barca letting them have Suarez... and even then it is going down to the wire.
Think his comment through: Possibly win ing the Spanish title and a CL semi final is being considered the worst RM team
Wenger is right, money has made the game far too predictable, so the complaints about ESL making the game a closed shop are a little bit moot, for the most part the horse has already bolted as it already is, and for the rest of us we need to fluke something special just to snatch a singular trophy off the mega rich.
Guarantee had Everton, WHU, Leicester etc been offered a spot they’d have joined too, not wanting to fall further behind. They aren’t morally superior.
I am saying that it is a distinction with little difference. But ESL is a closed door. Without ESL there’s still a chance no matter how small of clubs getting in. No guarantee this years top six will necessarily be same top six in 10 years. ESL unfairly guarantees that

And FFP keeps it that way as it is very hard to increase commercial income without winning a lot, and its extremely hard to win a lot if you don't have moneyWenger is right, money has made the game far too predictable, so the complaints about ESL making the game a closed shop are a little bit moot, for the most part the horse has already bolted as it already is, and for the rest of us we need to fluke something special just to snatch a singular trophy off the mega rich.
The one flaw with Wenger’s values is that he always wanted FFP to stop outrageous spending. He had the right principle but the methodology doesn’t work as it merely closes the door behind the established wealthy elite. And FFP keeps it that way as it is very hard to increase commercial income without winning a lot, and its extremely hard to win a lot if you don't have money
IDK if this has been mentioned elsewhere on this board, but it seems Jens Lehmann is in a bit of trouble
He's lost his job at Hertha and as a part-time pundit on Sky Germany apparently
So happy he's our freak.
Thats just Kante. That's amazing, runs past like 5 blokes to win it.
4 year contract extension for Neymar. 26m pounds a year. Wowsers.
