I was a plastic Hull fan. I jumped on when we got to the PL and beat Arsenal and Spurs. Didn't even stay up for the final game of the season that meant we stayed up, just checked the score in the morning. But as Moomba said, I learnt the history of the club and stuck with City through multiple relegations. Am I plastic?
Very plastic-y

Exactly! I was the worst! So I must be a plastic right?

TiL from last nights random drive-by.

It’s OK if your team cheats, as long you call out other teams that cheat. Or Option 2, you call out the players that cheated on your team but make sure to rank the cheaters. Only be sure to put the well-liked former Captain at the bottom of the ranking.

It’s OK if you support a football club with unsavoury owners, that you have been pissing on for years, as long as you are the mod of an Internet message board and I like you personally.

Geelong supporters would never “carry on” about a flag because three Geelong supporters on this message board didn’t carry on.

Greg Williams being paid under the table might have been OK if he actually did the work.

Like I said, so much to unpack.

Geez dude.

If you like the blues knock yourself out. I hope you enjoy the weekend.

But I never will and attempts to lump other clubs in among your own is nothing but false equivalency. Only 1 was fined and docked picks for systematically trying to circumvent rules. Which is different to others getting small fines for inadvertent errors. Intent always matters.

Losing concentration while driving and killing someone will always get less jail time to someone who spends 6 months planning to kill their while family.

And is why Essendon’s drug cheating is seen in less favourable light to Ahmed Saad who drank an energy drink he didn’t know had an illegal substance in it.

Intent matters. Always has.
So I don’t agree with the premise that the half dozen clubs done for cap breaches in the 90s are all equally bad, nor that you can use the GST error as a defence.

I don’l like Chelsea because they represent everything wrong with where football has gone over the last 20 years. Now PSG, City and Newcastle are taking to another level, as are the Saudi league clubs. Fans of your own club have stated all over the webz that they’d stop following if the Glazers sold to oil ownership. These things matter to some people.

At the risk of you not agreeing. I think you have taken all of this as far as it can go and now you’re just repeating the same stuff you’ve been saying for years.

I don't know how old you are, maybe you weren't aware of what led up to Carlton's penalty. Clubs were consistently trying to circumvent the cap. Not inadvertent errors. I don't care that Geelong can't account for GST correctly. A lot of clubs, including Geelong, were trying to cheat the cap in the 90s.

10% of Carlton's penalty was punishment for the crime, 90% was a message to rest of the league - knock this sh1t off, or we will bring you down too.

Also, Carlton were not docked points. They were fined and excluded from drafts. Which happened to several clubs, including Geelong. Carlton stands out because it the penalty was so much heavier. But to say "only 1" is completely wrong.

And some of those new 'plastics' will learn about the history of the club, will stick with the club through the lean times. They'll go to games, and buy merchandise which all goes towards making football clubs more sustainable.

We all start somewhere.

If people are arseholes online, call them out. Every club has them. And every club has plenty of new supporters that just want to be involved. Good on them I reckon.
This. I had to start somewhere on my football journey. No one in my immediate family followed a team and I came from an AFL background. My mums Italian side that live in Italy support Juve but access to watch it wasn’t easy like the Premier league was. Who was good at the time? Arsenal. Great players, liked the kit. All those little things play a part.

No one really picks a bottom half side unless there’s some kind of tie to it through family etc.

At the end of the day there's a heap of worse things going on in football beside spending money, I get its just a Chelsea trigger thing but surely it's been done to death now.

So much to unpack these last few pages, quite the rant. So is Gosha permanently banned? He always seemed to choose a name too close to Gosha that it was obvious who it was. Having said that the ahsog variation took me a while to clue on to who it was :D

Going to save you from years of back and forths and heaps of painful debates, don’t bother with Art. I wish I could go back in time and not bother with him.

Unless admin knows what all of Gosha's devices are or he/she's internet domains are banned entirely don't see how Gosha's return can be stopped...

Yeah hes kill on sight on a couple of other boards so when he sneaks back on he never lasts long.

I picked a Championship side because I liked their logo on a Fifa game.

I have no family history with the sport so it was purely my decision.
I picked my team because they wear blue and was suggested by my Spurs supporting brother.

This was pre internet so we didnt know we had to hate each other
