You see it so often these days. So often, the best public relations strategy is to shut the eff up and let it blow over. However, fools think they can talk their way out of it and just give the issue more oxygen which makes it worse.

The WC represents the best players competing against each other - so if your country is not in it you are going to have slim chance of winning the Ballon D'Or in a WC year.

It isn't the best player competing against each other. It's about the best teams competing against each other. Go through the FIFA 100 and you'll see plenty have never won a world cup.

You're completely missing the point like most people who vote on this. They are an individual in a team. If they play outstandingly well in a WC then sure, but the performance of a team shouldn't be included.

My votes would go to Mbappe or Griezmann who had good WCs and also good seasons for their clubs.
