They averaged 7.3k last season, that included their once a season boost from the derby. The year before was 8k.WSW crowds clearly took a big hit with the stadium development and then the fall off in interest in the league and despite that are still getting reasonable crowds, don't quite know what the argument is. The league is slowly rebuilding the trust of the fans with the reversal of the GF decision but it's still going to take a while to grow back. Not sure that's a reflection on the WSW as an organisation though.
Those are terrible numbers. For the A League they might be 'ok' but I'm of the belief they expected they'd have kept a much bigger core group of fans.
Their dwindling fan base has nothing to do with the Sydney GF decision. If anything, that should've had more casuals interested. Other clubs from different states would be a fair argument for that.
