A fine for an offense, reeducation & an apology would have been the correct way to deal with this.

In Australia there's no way this scenario would have resulted in a trial. The cost to the UK taxpayer here is simply unacceptable.

I personally don't believe they are remotely similar, and I do say that as someone who has been called a 'white dog/bastard/campaigner' plenty of times growing up in an area with a strong population of First nations people. But you don't have to believe that they carry the same weight to believe in this:
