While what Kerr said isn't cool it does not justify a trial & court case. I'm afraid someone in the UK justice system has a case of tall poppy syndrome here.

A fine for an offense, reeducation & an apology would have been the correct way to deal with this.

In Australia there's no way this scenario would have resulted in a trial. The cost to the UK taxpayer here is simply unacceptable.

I don't get the sense that Kerr will apologize.

They were vilified because of their ethnic background.

How do you not know that?
They were vilified because they were Jews weren’t they?

It's a little sad that some genuinely think racial discrimination against white and black people is of equal magnitude.

The Irish? The Irish were vilified because the English could. Unless I am missing something 🤷‍♂️

The English vilified everyone. If you're racist to everyone I think that makes you a xenophobe

Seems like "whitelivesmatter" bullshit to me

Bostonian seems to bring the Irish out every time he needs 'what about the poor white guys'.

I don't think anyone is actually suggesting that though, are they? I personally don't believe they are remotely similar, and I do say that as someone who has been called a 'white dog/bastard/campaigner' plenty of times growing up in an area with a strong population of First nations people. But you don't have to believe that they carry the same weight to believe in this:

Pretty simple. If you bring up anyone's race in any context. You are a dirtbag. There is no space for it, nor any space for apologists of same.

The significance is nowhere near the same but at the end of the day it is the same shitty behaviour and it is completely unnecessary.

Well when you have your language banned by law I'd say that's racist policy isn't it?

It's xenophobic. I say that as someone whose father was born and raised in Dublin.

This bloke seems to be.

It is not the same shitty behaviour.

This is the policing Sam Kerr grew up with:
www.theguardian.com

The WA cops rounding up Indigenous kids: a 'toxic and racist environment'

The police stories: Two former Western Australian and NSW officers speak out about what they saw during their time in uniform
www.theguardian.com
www.theguardian.com

This is the state of UK policing

www.theguardian.com

Met police found to be institutionally racist, misogynistic and homophobic

Author of landmark report says Met can ‘no longer presume that it has the permission of the people of London to police them’
www.theguardian.com
www.theguardian.com

"Casey revealed that one Muslim officer had bacon stuffed in his boots, a Sikh officer had his beard cut, minority ethnic officers were much more likely to be disciplined or leave, and Britain’s biggest force remains disproportionately white, in a capital that is increasingly diverse."

If anything "White bastard" is a weak descriptor of UK police.

There's no scale.

Either something is racist or it isn't.
Systemic racism is absolutely orders of magnitudes worse. No point discussing this with you though.
