Apparently he sped up after people tried to pull him from the car so I doubt it.

Plenty of casualties. 27 people taken to hospital. Thankfully no deaths reported so far.

Im aware, apologies my initial post wasnt clear. It's a miracle no one was killed and it would've been some miracle (i.e. an impossibility) if nobody had been seriously injured in a crowd that packed.

Terrible vision. Extraordinarily lucky no-one was killed. Sounds like a drunk driver, panicked and floored it when people started banging on the window and trying to pull him out of the car. A sad end to an otherwise brilliant and long awaited day of celebrations for the club and fans.

Liverpool socials in the aftermath showed the best of football supporters. Not only looking after the injured, but with the city gridlocked there were reports from all over of locals providing a free taxi service to complete strangers to help them get home/train/bus stations.

The latest reports are that 50 people were taken to hospital for treatment. 11 remain in hospital but none life threatening. Questions were asked how the car got past the barriers. Asst Chief Constable Jenny Sims said it followed an ambulance when a barrier was temporarily lifted. Another report says the driver was under the influence of drugs.
