An English player of 22 with less than 10 years left compared to the quality of youth coming through in Spain and Germany that's poor.I'm not sure what the point is. Only 1 might have made it, but in his place was another English player developed through the English system.
Facts are facts. German football from 2000 showed that it could be turned around and pretty quickly too.
Within 6 years they’d made a World Ccup semi-final & had the young player of the tournament.
Within 13 years they had an all-German Champions League final with 12 Germans starting, and 18 out of the 24 involved in the final had come through German academies!
Within 14 years they win the world cup
English football can either sit on their hands and do nothing like they have forever. Or they can make limp changes like the U21 premier league. Or they can shake the foundations of clubs and the league and improve
