Pellegrini, Ranieri, Pardew and Monk nominated for manager of the month for August.

Ayew, Mahrez, Smalling, Silva, Gomis and Kolarov for player of the month.

Pellegrini and Silva ahead of Pardew and maybe Ayew from what I've seen (missed the last few weeks).

Suggestions in the Times that a delegation of senior players has approached LVG complaining about his training methods.

Oh to be a fly on the wall if that actually happened.

I've seen those too but I'm skeptical tbh.

He's just gone on record as saying Rooney is the best captain he's worked with as a manager so it sounds like their relationship is going well at the moment FWIW.

Same things happened at Barca / Bayern.

Telegraph running with it as well, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ment-of-Rafael-and-role-of-video-analyst.html

Louis van Gaal’s heavy-handed treatment of Brazilian defender Rafael da Silva and the prominence given to video analyst Max Reckers have added to the training ground concerns that have left senior Manchester United players exasperated by the manager’s methods.

But while the situation is understood to currently be one of early season tension and teething problems rather than squad mutiny, Van Gaal’s abrasive style of management has prompted senior figures within the squad, reportedly captain Wayne Rooney and vice-captain Michael Carrick, to urge the Dutchman to soften his approach and allow more freedom of expression on the pitch and at the club’s Carrington training ground.

Van Gaal is 64 and has been managing since 1986.....Why would United players think he's about to change the methods he's been using for the better part of 30 years?

I wonder if it's just the newer generations coming through, you see it in the workplace and I heard it being talked about at AFL clubs. They're not like previous generations that shut up and do what they're expected, if they think its a waste of time or its hurting their feelings they will whinge about it. Not sure if its a good or bad thing but they were discussing it on ABC about how kids in the AFL have to be treated a lot differently than players in the past.

Correct. Fergie talked about it a lot towards the end. Probably has a lot to do with the fact that 16 year olds have agents these days, a lot of them are absolute scum. When Fergie started at OT in 86, player agents were usually the players parents haha or like Scholes, they handled there business themselves.

Damn agents. Most of them are bloody scum. If I was good enough to ever play professionally, I would go down the 86 method, or just hire someone for when I'm negotiating my contact. Would probably save a fair bit of cash as well.

No love for Mahrez? Joint top scorer from AM.

Cue the "our players actually only earn £200/week plus meal vouchers with £150k in bonuses" kind of posts...

cue the buttthurt and inability to take a joke :thumbsu:
It just means that I don't bother joining in the discussion because people (mainly from two clubs) would prefer to have a go at me than discuss the issue.

And we complain why the quality of discussion on here is so bad.
