Like I said, if we've broken any recruiting rules you and your other clubs really should submit a formal complaint.

That would put a stop to any future transgressions, and I'm sure you would have pretty clear cut evidence of wrongdoing to threaten to go as far as taking your ball home and refusing to play against us.

I wasnt aware it was Liverpool was one of the other teams, but guessed it would have been.

Manchester clubs at loggerheads over youth policy with United concerned City's recruitment drive is overly aggressive

- Manchester United youth coaches considered boycotting City matches
- United feel City's youth recruitment drive is overly aggressive
- The complaint is seen as churlish by City an was met with bemusement
- Earlier this month City won all but one youth match against rivals United

Coaches at Manchester United considered boycotting youth level matches against Manchester City, as their relationship with their neighbours sours.

Sportsmail understands staff at Old Trafford are concerned over what they believe as an overly aggressive recruitment drive from their counterparts across the city.

While they have not submitted an official complaint to the Premier League, they are thought to have discussed the option of refusing to play against City's youth teams with a number of other clubs in the region.

Earlier this month, when the Manchester clubs' youth sections faced each other, City won every fixture apart from one, which was drawn. In the Under 14s clash, City's youngsters triumphed 9-0, while their Under 15s began the season with a 6-0 victory over Liverpool.

United, who initially made their concerns known to City a year ago, are also thought to be unhappy with their rival's interest in a number of their own players.Their attitude, however, is understood to have caused bemusement at City, who privately see the complaints as churlish.

They believe that the package they offer is unrivalled and are confident that they have done nothing wrong.

Since the Abu Dhabi takeover seven years ago, vast resources have been poured into ensuring their City Football Academy is one of the best in the world.

Parents of children the club wish to sign are often given tours of the facility which includes classrooms, parents rooms and playrooms and activities for the brothers and sisters to use while their siblings are training.

While they are yet to see the fruits of their labour with a number of homegrown youngsters making the breakthrough to the first team, City believe they can show parents a clear pathway to the top. They also promote a commitment to the attacking football played by Manuel Pellegrini's side at all age levels.

Another key factor in attracting youngsters is thought to be City's partnership with top Manchester school St Bede's. According to the club's last annual report they had 68 pupils at the Whalley Range school.

In 2014 the first batch of City scholars sat their GCSEs at St Bede's and the pass rate for the group was 10 points above the national average at 79%.

If youngsters are released by City they remain at the school to complete their education.

That a number of ex-United players including Robin van Persie, Phil Neville and Darren Fletcher had their children at City would seem to suggest that the club is viewed as offering a more attractive option

All well and good dominating games at U15 level. Translating that to producing genuine first team players out of the academy is something else. And whilst City may have flash facilities and offer to buy out parents I still believe they don't yet have the experience to produce. LFC & United academies still the place to be IMO for young footballers I'm the north west.

Then theres nothing for you guys to worry about if you're still the preferred option.

Although I do wonder why football people like RVP, Neville, Fletcher etc have chosen to send their kids to our academy.

that will be a big enticement for parents.

Especially as you get to finish your schooling there even if you finish up with the club.

Same reason why teachers aren't usually allowed to have their own children in their class. They don't want others to asume they are getting favouritism because of their fathers. I'd assume that's the most likely reason.

Maybe so. Lucky for us I guess if they turn out to be decent.

Children emulating their fathers in professional football doesn't happen too often. The odds are that they won't make it. Good luck to you if they do.

It's ok because Fletcher and Phil Neville were shit and RVP's kid has presumably gone to Turkey.

Nothing for them to live up to.

They have never been invited to join the club.

My physics teacher's son was in his class, and it was a renowned school

That teacher was a campaigner and so was his son, his son used to cry from the smallest bit of contact in PE (from me), hey it's a man's game, get the ****ing used to it

They don't allow it in government schools usually. U less there's no other option.

If you are referring to an under 14 result, not only are you clutching at straws, you must also be unaware of our u14s playing at a u15s tournament. Look forward to seeing all those 13 year olds plying their trade in your first team soon.

But seeing as you like using academy results to determine player quality, James Wilson scored 4 in one game against your u21s last yr. Thus, are they no good.

United, Pool and others have been speaking to the FA about it. Not sure if anyone has lodged a formal complaint. I'll only be angry if you pinch one of our better prospects which is unlikely. Usually there are agreements between clubs behind relating to poaching other clubs academy prospects.

Rekt.

So, Spurs have released Adebayor. Will be interesting if anyone has a dabble. On a pay as you play deal, or a low basic, big bonus structure he has something to offer imo.

2k per week and 20k per goal?

I assume there would have been a payout for the last season of his contract.
We must have come to some sort of arrangement with him. He asked for it to be paid out in full upfront while the transfer window was open and that was turned down. Whatever was done is the right thing to do, no good having him being around even the youth teams
