Fair enough you lambasted faith for downplaying his ability. Why didn't you do the same for those who overstated his ability? Going by your response you believe that Sterling being a 25+ goal a season player is unlikely.

In the interests of objectivity of course.
If that's how you interpret my response, fair enough.

But nothing I said suggested that. But again, fair enough.

also so unfair that a team like juve have to play bayern so early in the comp yet city get to play kiev just crap for the league
Juves fault that they came 2nd, like Arsenal every season.

What's BS though is the scripted draw in the EL giving us Dortmund and you lot Utd.

Some really piss easy ties going on elsewhere though. Imo UEFA hates the FA.

Well I found catching up on the last 5 pages mildly amusing. The fisherwoman strikes again :D

As for the great no.10 pace debate. International break over Easter. Stawell gift over Easter.

An all EPL no.10 race, let's make it happen ;)

Was just a discussion about a footballer, would have thought that's kind of what happens in the on topic forum.

Never mind. Cbf arguing or explaining...

West Ham fans melting on Twitter over Nobles non selection again.

To be fair I don't think it could hurt to give him a cap or two. He has carried their midfield for years.
Which CM does he replace in the squad though?

Knowing Woy, Drinkwater will see 2 mins of game time against the Dutch and then never be selected again.

Would think Dier and Alli would start 1 game and then probably Drinkwater and Alli in the other. That's what I'd do at least, gives them a chance to see the pairings.

I'd like to see a diamond midfield - Dier at the base, Alli and Henderson either side, Sterling at the tip, 2 of Vardy, Sturridge or Kane up front. Plenty of energy, plenty of speed and penetration going forward.

eg
---------Dier---------
---Henderson-Alli---
-------Sterling-------
-Sturridge--Vardy---

Has Henderson actually been any good this season? I certainly don't think he's done as much as Drinkwater.

The real laughable selection was Walcott. Also, a case could be made for Albrighton over Milner but that's probably just personal preference.

Missed a few months of football in the first half of the season recovering from plantar fasciitis which set him back. Since coming back into the side he's been decent without being outstanding, and is gradually building back towards the levels we saw from him in the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons. Drinkwater is in this squad on merit and has been very good this season from what I've seen, but when fit and at his best I think Henderson is the better footballer.

This is my problem with the national side though. Does it not make more sense to pick the players in best form, rather than 'they've showed something previously'. Idk, to me Drinkwater has earned his spot this season more than Hendo (due to missed games).

I understand that argument. The difference in this instance is that Henderson isn't in his 30s, finished as a player and being selected on former glories. He's a 25 year old in the peak of his career who is recovering from an injury and re-building his fitness.

To me it makes sense to use these games to allow the players who will be lining up together in the Euros to build familiarity, and when fit (which he should be by the time the Euros start) Henderson is an automatic selection in my opinion (something he's earnt through consistently good performances over a number of years).

So why select him?

If it's due to your thinking in the second paragraph, then why bother selecting Drinkwater at all? If Roy isn't planning to play him, it makes the whole thing redundant.

To me, these friendlies should be used to test the fringe players and see what they've got. It's the perfect opportunity really.

Welbeck has a decent England record doesn't he? Useful squad player.
Certainly makes more sense than the Walcott selection.

Think Welbeck should be 4th in line (behind Vardy, Kane and Sturridge) but I suspect he'd get a go ahead of Vardy as a sub. I don't feel as strongly on that one though, Vardy is somewhat out of form at the moment.

Alli better not play both. Carrying injuries at the moment. Knowing Roy he'll play 180/180
