Extra points for the "do you even football" then says Robben is a midfielder lol
Robben is an attacking midfielder. He is not a striker. At a pinch, you could maybe call him a forward. Maybe.

An attacking midfielder is still a midfielder. He's a winger by and large but as has been discussed, a winger is a midfielder. A midfielder who attacks from out wide. An attacking midfielder.

A midfielder.

Yet another stellar debate on here haha.

Fwiw, I think it differs from player to player.

Take Mahrez for instance. This season he refused to track back at all. Therefore I don't really count him as a midfielder. Albrighton tracks back exceptionally well, therefore, I do see him as a midfielder.

Horrible news emerging from the Twittersphere, apparently Cheick Tiote collapsed at training in China and died in hospital

Nothing verifying this yet though

Gary Mabbutt also has been admitted to hospital suffering chest pains and breathlessness. Having heart surgery.

Wowwwww :( RIP

Will never forget the equalizer he scored against Arsenal in that famous game.

So sad :(

WTF??

FFS, these deaths seem to happen every year so suddenly
Was thinking that. I remember it happened once quite a few years back. A young french player if I remember and I was shocked. Then over the years its seemed to happen with regularity. Very sad.

It does seem odd to me that a lot of heart deaths and carido deaths happen to footballers

Yet no afl, rugby league or any of the Olympic sports seem to have this issue.
The odds I guess are much higher. How many professional AFL players are there. 40 or so on each AFL list. 40 x 18 = 720.

WAFL, VFL, other state leagues, still it wouldnt be more than two or three thousand people playing the game.

Then you take football into consideration. 20 Premier League teams with first team squads of say 25 players. Then you throw in the youth and U23's and Liverpool alone would have probably 50-60 players on it's books maybe more. Times that by 20 teams. Then the Championship, League One, League Two. Then all the leagues in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Scotland, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, then all of Europe, Asia, America, South America.

I guess just way more people playing which gives it a greater pool of people to perhaps have heart problems.

It's the world game after all.

There's been about 2 young lads (u16-18s) collapse and unfortunately died out my way over the last 4-5 years. 1 during a game (a Bacchus Marsh kid who Dougie Hawkins was coaching) and a Rupertswood kid I think (a Sunbury team), collapsed during training.

So there was a push on all sporting clubs having defibrillators and stuff around that time.

But yeah, more common in football unfortunately just due to its sheer popularity worldwide.

RIP Cheick :( way too early

A young boy collapsed a died not long ago at the place where I play basketball on Monday nights. Was apparently only 10-12 years old. So tragic.

Just because I hope it removes Jamie Carragher's arse from the thumbnail.

The costs of missing out on Premier League status are clear too. Another season in the Championship for Aston Villa and relegation for Sunderland see both drop out of this year’s list.

Sunderland’s loss has been Newcastle’s gain. The Magpies’ promotion will see revenues return and restore international exposure to the Tyneside club. As a result, brand value is up 92% to US$247 million, making Newcastle this year’s fastest growing brand.
