Refs were shit, I mean Karius should've been sent off.

Not a clear goalscoring opportunity as going away from goal and even if it was it still wasn't a red card offence because there was a genuine attempt to play the ball.

Duncan Edwards may well have turned out to be the greatest English footballer by all accounts.
At the rate Edwards was going at he would have been at the very least a top 10 player of all time imo.

21 when he passed and nowhere near his prime. Would love to see the world where munich did not happen and see that team reach its potential.

58,62 and 70 world cups could have been amazing with Pele vs Edwards and not too mention Real vs United in the 50's and 60's.

You and your eternal mission to find any loophole is mildly amusing. He kicked him, anywhere else and that's called a foul.

Kicking a player does not equal a foul. The amount of contact, the speed that the attacking player was moving at are all factors. I got a love tap on the ankles playing a practice match on the weekend from behind. As I was holding the ball up at the time it wasn't enough to send me tumbling so a foul wasn't called and rightly so. Van Dijk pulled out of the challenge, there was minimal contact on the back of Lamela's calf so it could have gone either way.

Nice of the linesman to not pick out the offside but flag for a marginal foul that the referee had ruled on.

Ok Mr Never Wrong 98 :thumbsu:

Haha 'minimal contact.'

Pretty much this. There is not a more hypocritical, biased group of football fans than those who wear the red of Merseyside. The irony of them calling Kane, Dele and Lamela a cheat (despite the fact that Kane and Lamela were both clearly fouled) shouldn't be lost on anyone after they defended this scumbag and Stevie G, who was a serial diver, for years.

The reality is that, no matter who you support, every single fan wants their player to go down if they feel contact, and every single team has had a player that has done so. Refs don't have the balls to call a pen when a player is clearly fouled yet keeps their feet, even if it means the goal scoring opportunity is gone, so they're encouraged to go down in order to win the pen.

Domestically you'd have a lot more than 20 titles and probably would have stalled Liverpool's ascension but I still don't see Real, Benfica, the Milan clubs or Ajax getting their dynasties challenged.

I wonder what it would be like living in a household with Zidane who is never wrong.
Haha when I first read this I thought you were talking about the actual Zinedine Zidane. I was about to ask you what he's done. :tearsofjoy:

Actually it isn't at all.

Accidentally kicking a player while challenging for the ball is not a foul.

It is only a foul if the referee determines the foul was either careless, reckless or used excessive force. It is entire possible to kick another player without being guilty of the 3 conditions required for it to be a foul.
