Part 4 is here:

Just caught this on the news.

McGowan is saying that none of these homeless were put into a hotel by the government.

Apparently, it's that activist group who have rounded up some other homeless people, booked them into a hotel, didn't pay for that hotel, and are now spinning it as the government not paying for it.

Interesting story.

Sounds like the hotel has been duped and should be suing these activists.

The hotel have either got something from the government like a purchase order or at least an email confirming the booking or they haven’t.

If they have then no problems getting paid. If they haven’t then it’s on them and they can chase down the person responsible for booking the homeless in

fu** me Zak has no ******* idea, just give the ALP the cup now.

He knows he won't win this election no matter what so he is playing politics the way the Greens do by making policy that he will never have to enact.

There’s much more to the homeless story than has been printed and McGowan is within his rights to be pissed.

There’s no quick fix for homelessness and ongoing hotel accommodation is not the solution. There are programs being implemented but the reality is there are just no houses available atm to rent.

Personally I think the govt could be fixing up social housing that are empty and building new ones - that’s a solution to some of the problem right there

It's been steadily getting worse over the last 10 years but has picked up the pace in the last 3 years with no political will to do anything about it.

The matinence costs on those coal power stations needed in the coming years alone means basically any other option then burying your alpaca head in the sand and continuing the status quo would be cheaper.
Build a nuclear power plant there.

Zero emissions, fuel cost is almost zero. Greenest and most reliable power available.

Total nuclear waste for the entire lifetime of power needs for 2m West Australians would fit in a two car sided shed.

The Mayor of one of cities also had the great strategy of "blame the constituents for not pulling themselves up by the bootstraps and whinging about no power".

No one owes you or your family anything; nor is it the local governments responsibility to support you during trying times like this! Sink or swim, it’s your choice! The City and County, along with power providers or any other service owes you NOTHING! I’m sick and tired of people looking for a damn hand out! If you don’t have electricity you step up and come up with a game plan to keep your family warm and safe. If you have no water you deal with out and think outside of the box to survive and supply water to your family. If you were sitting at home in the cold because you have no power and are sitting there waiting for someone to come rescue you because your lazy is direct result of your raising! Only the strong will survive and the week will perish. Folks, God Has given us the tools to support ourselves in times like this. This is sadly a product of a socialist government where they feed people to believe that the FEW work and others will become dependent for handouts. Am I sorry that you have been dealing without electricity and water; yes! But I’ll be damned if I’m going to provide for anyone that is capable of doing it themselves! We have lost sight of those in need and those that take advantage of the system and mesh them into one group!! Bottom line, quit crying and looking for a handout! Get off your ass and take care of your own family!

Bottom line - DON’T BE A PART OF A PROBLEM, BE A PART OF THE SOLUTION!

Since then has complained it was "out of context" and upset people have been mean to him.

To summarise, failures in natural gas, coal and nuclear energy systems were responsible for nearly twice as many outages as renewables.

A little research goes a long way.
I'm trying to find out what these failures were because I worry that backup fossil fuel systems to support the green power (as we see built all over the world when these sorts of systems are installed) not being turned on when the weather hits and causes the system they are built to backup to fail doesn't really count as a failure on their part because they would be able to provide the power of the turbines if they were used full time, but aren't.

"blame the constituents for not pulling themselves up by the bootstraps and whinging about no power"
Reads more like "don't expect the government to be able to provide for you in times of trouble" with the subtext of "just like they always have failed to be able to do even when they tried in the past"

And it's a lesson we all should heed.

Cool. But where will you park your car?
That shed had the nuclear waste material for ALL 2,000,000 Western Australians for their entire lives worth of power.

I park my car right in my garage and the factory sized building (for growth) that holds the waste can be right next to the power plant.
