Absolutely, he does point out stuff that I don't notice quite often, then he starts with the "Orazioooooo" bullshit and I turn off. Same as Damien Fleming in the cricket, knows his shit but the "avenue of apprehension" stuff got old quick.

I like the BT bullshit. He's just a guy calling a football game, not the Lord Speaker in the House of Lords. Each to their own but I'll take irreverent waffle from BT, JB etc. over the likes of David King any day.

Just as we've had the 16th anniversary of the Great Perth hail storm
i remember that day, i was in cbd and saw the storm clouds rolling in, and as an early adopter of the BOM radar, saw there was hail coming. so i legged it down to my car in basement, and got the hell out of dodge driving to inglewood using some back streets as the rain was already in and traffic banking up. i got home just in time

I was in the CBD as well.

Got a phone call from my wife who was at home with our 3 month old son in hysterics that water was coming through the roof. So I headed home on the train and my trusty old BA falcon was parked at Whitfords station and did not have a scratch on it when the cars around it had gold ball sized holes in their windscreens.

One thing I had forgotten about was the mud slide at Jacobs ladder in Kings Park and saw some photos yesterday showing the apartments waist deep in mud.

Luckily my car was undercover when that hailstorm hit, some of the biggest hailstones I've seen so they did a lot of damage.

Anyway I'm looking forward to getting some rain next weekend, I've had enough of the hot dry weather.

,

A couple of my mates and I inadvertently caused the street behind my place to flood during the storm. Kayaks were out and everything.

How do you cause a street to flood?

How do you cause a street to flood?
A shallow creek ran through the little park at the end of the cul de sac. A few weekends before, myself and two mates found a couch dumped in the industrial area on the other side of said park and carried it into the (dry) creek bed and positioned it under the walk bridge.

I'm not shitting you, this couch must've caught some debris because the couch caused the creek to over flow much worse than it should've. People who lived on the street all said it was the couch that caused it.

I wonder if there's a statute of limitations on causing a flood?

go out and buy a generator. anyone trust western power?

I find most places which have underground power to be pretty reliable these days

It's only if you are on the old poles still that it gets a bit more dicey with wild weather

true if its localised, was thinking more if the larger transmission stuff that feeds the substations go down

During the Great Hail storm i left work a bit early to avoid the bad weather as a motorbike rider.

Bad decision, riding on the freeway got to around Powis St and had to pull up into the emergency lane due to the hail, got frikin pummeled by ice whilst sitting on the bike.

The general scene looked a bit apocalyptic.

Got home drenched and a bit bruised to boot

If it's as bad as they're saying I might need to bring my chooks inside (big crate obviously) as their area is mostly wet weather proof but you know, not cyclone proof.
