We pay for a train system that shuts at midnight because apparently not enough use it but we then hear that Friday night football games at the new stadium may not happen because it won't be able to cope with demand due to peak hour commuters

Public transport in Perth - setting the standard world wide :drunk:

Kudos to the dude on the side of the road warning people about the upcoming speed camera on Albany Hwy at Gosnells the other day.

Anyone seen that "busker" near Perth train station in the silver suit and motorbike helmet, sort of randomly "dancing" to a CD player? How crap is that?

Busker is a very loose definition

It's hilarious how bad he is

Cant be much worse than that aboriginal bloke in Kalgoorlie with one leg that literally just used to hit 2 sticks together.

ffs learn the didgeridoo or something.

I've never had issues with taxis and I use them regularly. Get one at my house within 10 minutes and when going home go to the closest taxi rank.

Not everyone is on full salary or lives within 10 minutes of the CBD. What about people who live in the outer suburbs? Just because you are fine, it's okay for people further away from the city to pay 70-80 dollars for a cab?

Apparently the greatest thing ever to be going to come to Perth some time in the future.

I have a video of it stored on my phone. I've seen much worse buskers in Australian CBDs.

Then maybe people like yourselves need to start hitting social media, print media and radio and TV and start making very loud noises and jumping up and down - if the voice is loud enough!!!!

Instead we just accept at times because it's all too hard

There's a great fb page about Perth speed camera set ups. Mainly focused on NOR locations but has daily updates on just about every spot where they at.

Done that, posted feedback to the Liberal Party and Transperth expressing my dismay at this decision. Don't assume shit.

For the record I wasn't assuming, just suggesting - carry on

But you have to expect that when we live in an isolated city with only 2 million in the metro area. That's half of Melbourne. If you visit the city often it makes sense to live near it. Perth people are still obsessed with a quarter acre block in the middle of nowhere then whinge when there is nothing around and no transport.
As for the price well everything is expensive here. Another draw back of low population and high living standards.

I made a conscious decision to live within 10km of the CBD and near PT because commuting long distances drives me insane. The sacrifice is I don't have 4 bedrooms and a quarter acre block.

For the same price I could've got an extra bedroom or two and another couple of hundred square metres 15-20km further out, but that didn't appeal to me at the time and doesn't appeal now.

Now if the levels of govt would just allow some higher density development near the rail infrastructure so more people can use it...

Just moved back to Perth after 2 years away. Didn't know Wellard was a deadspot for mobile phone coverage, luckily I live on a hill and get get 2 bars inside my house. its quite amusing when i go for my evening run seeing countless people standing out on their driveways and in the street talking on their phone
