I don't understand people who never saw WA outside Perth growing up.

Should be a pre-requisite that you get your passport stamped by at least 5 places outside the metro area before you are allowed to go to Bali.

I thought every Perth family at least went to Albany once.

I've never been to Albany

Was only having this discussion the other day about how I'm always keen to head off overseas but have never bothered to see a lot of my own country other than capital cities - embarrassing really

Going to make a point during the winter months of doing short trips to see places like Manjimup, Denmark, Albany etc

Mandurah should. It wasn't that long ago it was a separate little holiday town. When I was a kid I knew other kids who spoke of going to Mandurah the way people speak of going to somewhere like Moore River now.

And FFS go up the coast road. Even when I lived in Geraldton before that road went through I avoided the Brand as much as possible (Orange Springs Road from Regan's Ford to the back of Wanneroo FTW!)

Golden Bay is the next turn off down and a much older little 'town' before Secret Harbour was opened up and the sprawl linked them all up.

I went there once in the middle of summer, all it did was rain all week.

You should know that summer in Albany happens on a random Tuesday between December and March
Rest of the time it is a raining,cold shit hole

Gonna be leaving roughly 5-6 in the morning so traffic shouldn't be an issue on the freeways. Is coast a pretty consistent speed? Prefer to wack the cruise control on sit back and enjoy the drive.

Looking at doing a few trips up north next year going to buy a rooftop tent and just go to mostly coastal towns having a fish and exploring never really been anywhere between Lancelin and Broome so got a lot of places to go!

Coast is fine and it is a good drive - it's just about preferences -
