It's a terrible looking hoodie to my tastes but who really cares? As with the philistines who jump on Facebook shitcanning every New Era release as "Too American" or "Too gangster rap", if you don't like it simply don't buy it. If people like it and want to buy it good for them. Let them.
People have to remember that there's a certain amount of "crap" or generic AFL approved merch that gets made for every club, that every club shop must stock. This is one of those. I saw the Adelaide Crows version of the same hoodie in Rebel Sport just a couple of weeks ago.
Just be glad the club does get some amazing stuff made off its own bat that the rest of us love and enjoy wearing. There's enough range to please everyone.

Yes but the AFL branding guide does not actually allow it

Actually that whole document is a crock of shit

But we definitely have control of what logos get put on our merch.

The monogram loses it's effect in the roundel. The roundel is terrible.

I can handle both logos being used on the same piece of merch, but certainly not with equal prominence like that.

Sloppy design.

Yeah. Look.

I don't think it's going to be a big issue. This is a one-off merchandising trial. They AFL testing the waters with secondary logos competition-wide to see what the market wants. I suspect that it's going to go badly and they won't repeat it, and the use of secondary logos will be up to each individual club's discretion rather than an AFL mandate.

It'll be ok m8

Didn't know that faux logos were being used league wide. That is unbelievable. I mean seriously unfathomable from a professional league to use logos which aren't official on official league produced merch.

It's like those mugs and shit you see at markets with team logos produced by people on BigFooty on them. But actually put on merch by the AFL.

The AFL is like, "We'll make logos and MAKE THEM OFFICIAL!"

There's some very nice items coming into the Port Store in the next month or so that a lot of people will be very happy with. A certain hoodie design from 2011 is making it's long awaited return. Also, it turns out there is no licensing issue with the PA monogram design and the club can use it as much as it likes.

So basically, we break out the hoody whenever we are shit?

Actually using the A from Adelaide's wordmark would be great for them. It looks awesome, and it's better than their monogram.
Whoever is in charge of their branding has missed some prime opportunities due to their 'strategy' of trying to mimic what other clubs do. (eg the faux heritage monogram and the black crow cap)

They need to establish their own distinct identity and the stylised A would have been a good move.
