You guys........:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

I Haven't had much time to spend here this last week. The First thread I opened is this and I have been pissing myself reading the last few pages.

Anyway while I'm not really keen to pose for selfies I will share my collection including the best beany ever made, that I bought at the port store a few weeks ago when I was in Adelaide for the Hawks game!

Did anyone else get an e-mail from the Port Store with their membership number and password printed clearly at the bottom of the e-mail. FMD Port Store, can't you do anything right? Just can't trust that mob, next thing you know they'll be putting credit card details out on random e-mails.

Got to say the online ordering is quite good.

ordered something on Monday, was delivered on Friday. Pretty good service IMO.

That's actually ridiculous. Don't we use those details to also amend membership details and stuff? Who has unsecured passwords these days?!

Huh?

You live in Adelaide? And it took them a week to get things from one part of Adelaide to another? Or one part of Australia to another?

No, that's not good service. Don't let anyone tell you that it is. It's lousy IDGAF service.

Mrs P & I are ordering stuff on Amazon all the time and we get stuff from the UK quicker then that.

So...I'm in IT Security right.

I am never ****ing buying from that store again. What a disgrace. Port Adelaide you heard it here, final straw for mine. This is a unmitigated disaster of an outsourcing decision. If any of you read this thread, get your act together because what has just happened is a major breach of privacy and opens accounts to theft including credit card details.

**** me.

Just checked my emails and I'm got the same with username and password out in bold. I reckon there would be 60,000 emails the same sent out. I guess a password change is the first thing in order, then contact the club somehow to sort this out.

They have been doing this for years, not just the shop, its a club thing.

I have a membership email from November 2012 where they did the same thing. Subject "We are coming home to Adelaide Oval in 2014" with account ID and password at the bottom of the email.

its the same login details you use to edit/pay for membership through the ticketmaster site.

When you put it like that the eyes do roll quite a fair bit.

It had to come from VIC I believe going by the tracking details, which thinking about it now is a joke in itself.
Port gear coming from interstate..lol's. Surely all apparel could be stored in state to make it even quicker service and delivery.

Took a week to get a package from Melbourne to Melbourne from them so

Not an IT or a law person so please explain to me.

I thought it was illegal for websites to store passwords like that. Shouldn't they be, like, encrypted or something?

I believe it should be, but I cant be sure it is required.
I know one of the hacks on the Playstation Network [with many accounts linked to credit cards] happened because someone discovered the password you send when you log in is sent in a plain notepad style text document named "Passwords" with no encryption.

The club's slack online security might explain why for a while there I was getting calls to my mobile phone from guys saying "Hi, I'm calling on behalf of the Port Power Football Club. Would you mind doing a quick survey about your online gambling habits?".

No joke.

They should be stored in encrypted databases.

Sending passwords via email went out in the late 90s. Who the hell is making these decisions?

I got one. Not sure if it really counts for much as even if it was hacked as the user would still have to use their credit card details and the only people out of pocket would be the Port club who would have to wear an extra 10% off merchandise. That would break them ha ha. Replied to it anyway and told them to be more careful in the future.
