Bigfooty members in general love teal when it's used appropriately as a tertiary colour.

I'm happy for it to be used as a secondary colour, as long as the primary colour is deep space black at a 20:1 ratio.

Big Footy members don't like teal much.All 35 regular posters certainly let us know about it continually.The 3500 or so posters on facebook seem to prefer it at times.Does Big Footy's vote mean much on the grand scale?

I'm all for human autonomy and self empowerment, but until the deconstruction of the human indoctrination of shit ideas is put into action it's best that some people are kept out of the process.

Design by committee is inherently worse than design by a single person or small group with a shared vision and direction.

The survey is indicative but taking every branding related result on it as gospel and introducing it will lead to muddied, awful branding.

This club almost died once trying to win-over/appease the fringe supporters at the cost of disengaging the traditional supporters. Let's not go down that path again!

Black and white are our main colours, teal works well as a third colour but very few people would really care if it was changed to another colour. And, if it was a trendy colour the FB brigade would be all over it! On the other hand, if we eliminated the B&W a lot of people would care!

The fact we have released a number panel to be "more Port Adelaide" on our home guernsey and yet at the same time look very close to adopting a predominantly teal clash guernsey because survey shows just how bi-polar our branding is at the moment.

I few short years ago our merchandise department was summoned to AFL house to deliver a talk to other club merchandise departments on how it should be done. This was around 2013-14 when we were really on top of the "less is more" mentality with black being the base colour of most of our merch. Sales were absolutely going through the roof. Why the need to change?

This is really the long and the short of it.

Branding is responsible for very little in terms of garnering new support for a sports team.

Branding is very responsible for how connected existing supports feel to their sports teams.

Winning is comfortably the best way to increase both the total number of fans and how many of them are active and paying supporters.

Agreed. It is the reason why shows like The Block, The Bachelorette and X Factor are on TV and rate highly. It is why Justin Beiber exists and why we now have a total buffoon as President of the United States.

The vast majority of the world are stupid or have no taste and need their decision making rights taken away from them.

NB: I don't necessarily thing the white panel is a bad brand positioning choice. It's just that we've had to downgrade our aesthetics to get there and I think they may have underestimated how much people liked the solid black look.

I was being fececeous but yeah, the Facebook crowd are generally the type to get the club to change something to what they like and then go buy the cheap version from Target anyway.

"Thanks a lot for looking after us average fans, Port. I would have bought one if I knew about it. Way to treat your fans!!!!".

You couldn't have been a member or even been friends with a member and NOT known about that jumper.
