Mitch Brown, he should keep his spot and we can use Schofield elsewhere. This back six looks solid but the rebound might be an issue -

Butler Mackenzie Glass
Hurn Brown Waters

I like this.
Give Schoey a free ticket to use his run off half back or as a floater.
Would give him much needed confidence and the run we need.
Brown is quickly becoming a KPB. We should play him as such.

Struggling to find any on a team level at the moment- not even our Melbourne win. I actually feel physically sick.
I'm trying to turn the biggest current worries (ongoing injuries, horrendous goal kicking, and inability to play 4 good quarters) into opportunistic positives (as surely, the first 2 at least are due to end sometime) but am unable to at the moment. All I can do is focus on isolated, individual positives, but that isn't enough at the moment.

I wish I could magically reset the season and start again from round 1 or even the preseason :(

Some Positives for me this year:

Brown: Given a chance and is getting better game by game.
Sinclair: Fix his set shot at goal and i think he will be a very handy FWD/Ruck for the future.
Masten: Has stepped it up this year and yes he did play his worst game on the weekend but other than that he has been really good.
JK: Has gotten even better this year and have been very consistent up front.
Lecra: Except for the game v Port he has come back very good and was worried he would take a long time after his year off with a Knee injury.

Look we still have a very young and talented squad to build around and if we just fix a few things like kicking for goal and getting our squad close to 100% fit im pretty sure.

This. As another poster said, we have a track record of bringing guys in on reputation rather than form. At least Dalziell actually looked like AFL standard last night (it may be a one off, who knows). SpaceClef you can pay me later.
Braddley was absolutely fantastic on Saturday night and he made me a very proud sponsor. He topped the side in SC points, probably due to his immaculate disposal and superior work rate. If he gets dropped I'll burn an Eagles membership (someone else's because I don't have one)

If we want to play both brown and schoey then I think we should play schoey down back to give us some run and put hurn on half forward and every now and then give him a run on the wing. Just to free him up for a game. He is a good mark, great reader of the play and a booming kick so he could play that lynch role which would allow him to kick long into the fifty and allow Kennedy the luxury of a 1 on 1 as the other defenders won't have time to come across and help out. The way Kennedy is marking at the moment he could well kick another 10 goal haul against the doggies.

He is playing like an absolute beast so far this season.. I attribute it to the beard-factor

We got to see how our midfield set up looked like without Priddis for 3.5 quarters.....

This. So much this.

It's unbelievable the opinion of Priddis on this forum. No he may not be the best kick in our team, but his inside work is superb and whilst we managed for a half without him, in the end his work was missed.

I actually thought our on-ball division held up okay. We lacked run at the end, and intensity, and composure, and skills, and heart.

Having said that I think we need Priddis in the side anyway.

One of the best tackling sides in the competition, also in the top four for marks inside 50.

Generating the shots on goal, and the defensive work rate is there, lacking polish.

Welcome. But I disagree with you on the defensive work esp in the middle and up forward, backs have been good.

I'm just going by the stats, we are the number tackling side in the competition with 351. Next best is Fremantle with 341. The defensive work rate is there, the scoring opportunities are being generated, the polish is off.

Where we are really struggling is in the uncontested stakes, we sit above only the Demons and Adelaide, that suggests we are not spreading well enough from congestion, and probably stems from the lack of legspeed in our midfield brigade.

That and Gaff and Hurn are being sat on each week, there needs to be another option to carry the ball.

It is interesting to note that the top four teams on the ladder, are also the top 4 sides in terms of uncontested possessions.

Tells you what wins games of football these days.
