yeh, i reckon we will still be pretty ****ing good

Have people actually put it into their minds, what if the tigers keep winning? They will freak out i reckon. Something like Rances injury could actually galvanise the playing group.

Rance is irreplaceable

However the sytem we have will show through with out him

We’ve had the best backline in the comp for 3 years
Astbury and vlastuin the generals now
Garth to lock down with grimes
short Houli to run
Broad to be mr fix it tall and small

He’ll be back round 1 next year
At least it’s not mid year or around finals time

We’ll have plenty of time to adapt

Rance will make sure of it by talking to his team mates.

Gez some people overacting tho.No doubt can't replace your best players, but move on someone gets another opportunity Balta,Garth or Moore to develop.Everbody said cats a gone when Ablett left won a flag, eagles without Gaff or Natantui last year not doom and gloom.

I reckon this will galvanise the group and I agree the pressure is off to a degree from outside.

Look how often in recent seasons the underdog on grand final day has gotten up, just about every season including our three peat (maybe not against Freo tho).. if the season plays out like I think it will Richmond will do enough to make top 4, let someone else take all the pressure into the finals and turn it up a notch on the way to the flag.. and as much as Rance is no doubt a loss you have all season to tinker with the defense.. as Clarko says one soldier out another one in.
If there’s one positive to be taken, it’s this. I’d far prefer something like this to happen now, than on the eve of finals.
Semi related to how I reckon you’ll deal with the huge loss of Mitchell better than most expect.

I certainly don’t mind if we ain’t flag favs prefer if that spotlight was elsewhere ,we will be a contender no doubt about that. If Balta can stand up and our lists remains otherwise healthy we are a dangerous outfit. BRoad and grimes showed how they could quell qty forwards in Curnow and McGovern. I’m sleeping easy

Opportunity.... let’s see who puts their hand up....Alex is not lost, he will do everything to help raise the next kids hand...

just sayin ...

Why do people insist on 'negative articles in media and/or movements in betting lines' = 'pressure'? It has no effect on the game, it has no effect on the players. It's purely a media-driven narrative that exists solely for journos to write more articles about an imaginary situation they created themselves.

Suppose a Witch-doctor from Parts Unknown dramatically placed a Curse Upon The Richmond Football Club for the next game. Do you think the players would care? Do you think the coaches would care?
And if Richmond happen to get up and win, would you be impressed that the 'Players had stood up, against great pressure from The Curse'?

Losing Rance makes us slightly weaker. How much is debateable. We will have to make changes to accommodate. We will - maybe successfully, maybe not. An article from a football hack about 'pressure'. 'flag favoritism', or 'concerns' adds nothing to the actual situation.

Don't buy into the bullshit. (Says the guy writing on an inconsequential, bullshit-filled football forum that means nothing:D).

The pressure is still there. We will be expected to prove we aren't a one man team. We will be expected to prove one season ending injury doesn't derail our whole season, like it didn't with the Eagles or the Bulldogs.

In all honesty, premiership teams can overcome these things. If we are good enough, we will make it happen.

It did just get a whole lot harder though.
We have 22 weeks to work it out.Which combo works against certain sides.More if a concern if Rance did his knee in later rounds.

Absolutely, make finals then it’s a new ball game, 22 weeks to work it out , fmd the 2017 premiership was won on the back of a big man going down and restructuring the forward line , not saying griff is Rance , but I think onlythe g9ldfish in here have forgotten that we had a massive style change

Exactly.
We are a better well oiled machine from 2017.
In fact the one line we can cover is the backline.
We shored up our one weak link.
We can do.
