either way we will cose we will only want to use 2 draft picks in this draft therefore we have to elevate at least 1 rookie and he seem to be the best out of the lot

Jarryd is a very hard-at-it midfielder who played really well in the VFL and had a good finals series. His work at clearing the footy from stoppages was very good and he'll look at developing on that.



The lack of this type of player lost us the prelim final. Do we want to keep making and loosing prelims? No we Don't.

** During the Collingwood best and fairest there was a mini-poll on should Blair be promoted to the senior list. 90% said yes. This is a fact i saw it and the Magpies Staff know this also!

With the lack of quality draft picks we now have, it would seem an elevation of at least one rookie is on the cards. Doing my delistings I came to the following conclusion;

Delisted;
Rocca.
Clarke
Stanley
Bryan
Corrie
Rookies;
Thoolen
Dyas

Promoted;
3 national draft picks
1 pre season draft pick
1 rookie promotion (BLAIR).
Rookie;
Scott Reed (promoted from NSW rookie to normal rookie)

That's assuming both Stanley and Corrie are delisted, even if only 1 goes, we might just skip the PSD and promote Blair.

We will know by;

Friday October 30th - List Lodgement one. Rookie promotion, retained second year rookies, retained 3rd year international rookies, retained 3rd year non registered-rookies

That is the date that all clubs have to finalise any decisions on rookie elevations.

If thats the case, he should be pushing for selection some time soon. We could do with a player of that calibre in the midfield.

I don't see it.

Blair is a tenacious little guy, tries his guts out, strong through the body, neat disposal.

Mitchell is all class. Kicks off both feet well, can handball better than some players can kick. Genius football as well, so smart.

Blair is a hard one to compare imo. I know I shouldn't criticise your opinion and not have one of my own, but I struggle to see Sam Mitchell in him.

Blair, funnily enough, is similar to Luke Ball to me. More so than like Mitchell, in my opinion. Small, gets the hard ball, isn't all that flashy, runs hard and isn't flashy. Workman like player.

I'd rather him on our AFL list than Stanley or Cook.

It wont happen in 2010 unless we get hit big time with injuries. He came straight out of TAC cup into VFL this year so Collingwood are keeping him on the rookie list in 2010

I think he's more inside than Harvey. The Ball comparison is spot on for me, just a bit smaller.

Harvey's plenty good inside, it's just he's more effective outside.

fwiw, I'm pretty skeptical about his long-term AFL potential.

...so did steele sidebottom??? and a plethora of other draftees, most draftees from victoria come out of the TAC, can't see why that's an argument against him playing senior footy.
