I dropped out of uni after three weeks. The thought of telling my father made me sick, he'd drummed into me my whole life how important tertiary education is. I hid it from him for months, going to work when he thought I was going to class.

After about 4 months, I took him out to lunch and said that I had to tell him something. I looked him in the eye and said "Papa, I'm pregnant". His face went purple at the thought of his 18 year old daughter being knocked up. Before he could open his mouth to speak I jumped in and said "kidding! But I dropped out of uni". He didn't give a **** after that.

You sneaky cow. I had a couple of aborted goes, and didn't finish up until I was in my 30s.

thanks for the advice guys, I have a few years of school left to go but trying to work out what to do after is wrecking my head.

I jumped into a course reluctantly and I don't feel I'm getting a whole lot out of it but I've decided to go back for another semester to really give it a crack. If you don't know what you want to do, don't stress. Just get a job and work for a year. You might save enough to travel or do some cool shit, and you have a year to contemplate what to do without the stress of year 12 weighing on you.

I wasn't ready for uni when I first left school, I was just so glad to get out of the stinking place, the thought of immediate reimmersion in another educational institution was repellant. I got a job sprinkling cheese on pizzas, and saved to travel.

Are the people in the Bunnings ads really floor employees?

I know four people who work in Bunnings who say they are actually employees. They also reckon they don't get paid for it either. No idea why anyone would do it without getting paid for it aside from getting their head on television.

These are people who are all separate from each other and all say the same thing. It could also just be scuttlebutt that floats around Bunnings employees.

I would be absolutely fine with it if my boys chose a path other than Uni. It's going to cost me anywhere from $70 to $120k.

The mum of a girl I worked with was on one and she was a Bunnings worker. So they are definitely workers.

I knew someone who worked at Bunnings and all the store employees were asked if any would like to film a commercial.

Apparently what they say isn't scripted either. I can't picture anyone at my store saying all the good stuff they have in commercials.

My wife did, they were very accommodating. Helps if you work with good people and your boss isn't a campaigner though.

But I'm relieved now cause I doubt I could take the pay cut. Would still love to change my hours from 8.15-4.30pm, to 8am-4pm and half hour for lunch. Still got a no.
