What's optus like?
2nd Biggest carrier in Australia I think. I've never used them before and don't know many that do. Have not really seen many complaints other than the norm though.

I've used tpg and iinet and had no drama's and excellent speeds. My parents have used Telstra for 20 years and it was a cluster**** until the last few years.

Had internode last year which was horrible.

Often the most important thing is the connection from your house to the exchange. Which you won't know about till you connect internet.

I'm thinking going with the $95 unlimited cable with Optus
Cable is generally the way to go if it is available.

High bandwidth, stable speeds and decent price. At least, in my experience that's been the case.

My cable net is with telstra and gives me speeds on the bottom end of what NBN is supposed to deliver - downloads around 3.6mb/sec from torrent sites, but I have seen up to 6mb/sec when downloading from Steam or Origin with local content.

Anyone ever successfully converted foreign coins to AUD? Seems pretty hard, but I reckon I've got 60 bucks or so in euros/kroner.

I'll trade you my Indonesian coins for your euros.

Where are the modern day hippies?

I want to know that if my life fails I can always go live in some commune and knit my own poncho and grow organic vegetables.
