Oh good, I mean god, I mean good god:mad:
What a waste of money for a heap of firewood
You are angry that other people are donating money to preserve a piece of internationally significant maritime history? o_O

People spend ship loads off money on pursuits that I see as a waste of money but I don't get angry about it.

Get angry man.

The world needs more angry people.

Are the government putting any money towards the project?

The Federal Government promised $850K before the last election but with Labor defeated I don't know if that money was ever provided.

The British government put in $1.2M towards bringing the ship to SA for restoration.

I don't have a problem with the government, state or Federal, providing some funding as a fully restored clipper in the heart of Port Adelaide would generate some additional economic activity. When in London I went to Greenwich primarily to see the Cutty Sark. The majority of the funding should come from private and corporate donations though and that is the current funding model.

Maybe they could rescue the Buffalo here at Glenelg too (is that even an original or a replica??) It is rotting into a cesspool.

It is a replica of sorts. The real Buffalo was wrecked in NZ.

It was originally supposed to be floating but the couple of attempts they had at building a ferro cement floating "base" at the northern end of the Patawalonga lake were epic fails. They gave up and built the replica on pylons.
