Because it's not in the tradition of a light saber, I'm not really a fan, but some things are sacred...even the double saber raised my eyebrow The Rock style
Depends on what the tradition is to you. The prequels pretty much re invented the saber in the films (originally they were to be wielded like long swords hence the two handed fighting in the original trilogy) but yoda spinning around in Clones put paid to that.

The EU has all sorts of weird and wonderful sabers. The existence of a hand guard is nothing.

The double sabre at least had lore to it....as it was the strongest one built and it was at least practical...

This new one makes no sence...it has no purpose ...it would seem difficult to use and doesnt fit into star wars lore...

They just made this lightsabre to make money and f***ed up the lore...

Back at work on Monday. Yeahh.
All this food, Scotch, beer and wine is getting to me. It sucks getting older. :(

On another note, yellow spot Irish Wiskey is a really good drop. :thumbsu:

People actually care that much about Star Wars? I always thought it was just about the pew pew pew ship goes boom stuff.
Yup and footy is just grown men chasing a bag of air around whilst wearing homo erotic shorts and singlets.

But all the same, Dirty Harry has his .44, Star Wars has it's sabers. Disney try to re-invent the saber after the decades of it's iconic status(I was about 12 when the first Star Wars came out...I am now 50) smacks of 'well, we have to Disneyfy Star Wars'. Other than that, this time tomorrow I will have forgotten all about it

This has become my 'tomato sauce'. I keep this one in the fridge

There has definitely been something where the hooded figure turns to reveal it's face and it's jar jar.

Look I've probably gotten over the stupidity of that lightsaber because it will probably be a one off and there will be lots of cool normal lightsabers to placate me

Third prequel was the best, I actually rate it above Jedi.

Empire > Star Wars > Sith > Jedi > Episode 1 > Clones
This is pretty close.

The 3rd prequel would be above Jedi for me if they hadn't cast Hayden Christensen.

I live and breathe Star Wars but I would have walked out of Attack of the Clones because of Hayden Christensen's ridiculously awful performance if I wasn't on a date at the time.

Worst casting mistake in the history of film

Watching Rage's top fifty videos for 2014 - supposedly best, most watched and controversial as voted - I guess by the Rage faithful.

#50 and 49 didnt know the artist and song.
#48 Russell Morris - **** didnt know he had a song that rated - Van Diemen's Land.
#47, 46 and 45 normal transmission resummed dont know the atist or song.

Perfect storm of mediocre acting, shitty dialogue and a downright awful plot.

Give him a break, it was his first big film, he was up with McGregor, Portman, and Samuel L Jackson, and he has the meglomaniac Lucas in full control giving more attention to CGI and marketing than acting and dialogue, and his other co-stars mostly consisted of blue screen. When it mattered (end scene, Revenge of the Sith) he did as good as could be expected with more questionable dialogue and held his own up against McGregor, and more blue screen.

Even Natalie Portman is on record as saying making those films nearly killed her Hollywood career as no one thought she could act after Star Wars.

I was actually more interested in these funny lookin' things

And yes, Episode III certainly had pacing issues. The one time we actually wanted to see more dialogue and character moments and less pew pew, whoosh whoosh, buuuuuzzzzzz...

I also found it funny that while watching the Episode 1 making off, Liam Neeson says how he needed a stunt double for his fight scenes, as it was too much for him physically and he doesn't really do action. 10 years later...
