Do Nickelback get a lot of mainstream criticism though? Im not sure they do. Theyve sold 50 million records, are constantly played on FM radio all around the world. They are a genuinely huge band, its just formulaic, generic rock with no passion, no soul, no feeling, no emotion. Just the same lame power chords and fake lyrics. I think people laugh at fans of Nickelback more than at the band. More power to them.

Im no powderfinger fan but at least they had some sort of evolution as a band, and in any case, they are Australian. The Australian media would never ever eat one of their own, especially not one of the biggest 2-3 Aussie bands of all time. I think most people realise that Jet were a one trick pony.

Muse are a perfect example of the 3 album rule where the Music world would be far, far better off if bands were forced to stop making music after their third album.

I was a massive Muse fan after Origin of Symmetry and Absolution but they couldn't be more dead to me now.

I agree with you tbh. Nickelback are the top of the pile though. Nothing Powderfinger has done comes close to Nickelback's brand of ultrabeige.

My favourite band to hate is Linkin Park and if i'm talking music with someone, hearing Linkin Park is time to stop listening.
