Rock up to my finance tute, take the last seat, look up and guess who's sitting across from me?

Still don't know what happened there. Thought he was going to be an excellent footballer. Carved it up at lower levels and showed glimpses of what he could be at AFL level. Just never made it. Bit of a shame.

Judith. Cracking tune. Obviously too much energy for them to perform live, they HATE energy.
Haven't played that outside of North America since 2004? - And you've obviously never seen A Perfect Circle/Tool/Puscifer show live, they're well known for having an enigmatic stage presence.

Also The Outsider is a better song.

He copped it pretty bad from Eagles fans over here. Filthy bunch. Still, it's a brave call to walk away from the game at such a young age. Not many guys would do that.

He looked in good shape, but who wouldn't with that tan, so I'd guess he's still playing for Claremont.

Oh look, it's the Maynard fan telling me I just don't get it.

So you're confirming what I said? That they didn't wanna play the hit?

"Obviously never seen..." I've seen Tool twice. Both times I was pretty bored, but it sounded pretty good.

People have a go at Metallica fans and Slayer fans and AC/DC fans, etc. with all their stereotypes of "Metallica or nothin' c*nt!" but goddamn, there is nothing worse than the Tool fan. Y'know the group who all secretly hate each other because they think they relate to the music more than the others and who base their entire music personas on feeling superior to everyone who just "doesn't understand it".

Also, The Outsider wasn't their hit so I don't know how that's relevant. It's like going to a Deep Purple concert and them not playing Smoke on the Water. They have much better songs, but that doesn't mean Smoke on the Water isn't their hit.

More of a Christopher Meloni fan TBH.

Bands get to pick and choose what they play - They do get sick of playing the same shit every day.

Shouldn't have expected any more with A Perfect Circle. :p

I like both bands, (Metallica and A Perfect Circle) - Both completely different stage bands. All bands have fans who are complete and utter campaigners.

Didn't Pearl Jam come to Adelaide and not play their hit?

Also A Perfect Circle is that arsty bullshit style of band who are too "cool" to play the songs everyone knows. Still have some wicked songs.

Hope that clears some of that up.

If I was at a pearl jam concert and someone said "they didn't play their hit" I would kick them in their balls until their ears bleed.

How's Jackson Trengove going this pre-season?

You'd swear he's not even on an AFL list, if like me you were living in Tasmania for the summer and then moving to North Queensland. A lot of Port over the summer has been positive news (Boak captain, Kochie doing some great work etc) but haven't heard anything about Trengove.

Former first round pick, would be about 22/23, a big size...is he ready for a breakout year, injured etc??

Seriously out of form since early 2012

A bit, but when you say "get sick of playing the same shit every day" as a follow up to "haven't played since 2004" as well as describing a band who played the exact same set in both Melbourne and Adelaide... it doesn't quite stick.

I figured because A Perfect Circle always stress about how they're not like Tool, they wouldn't be like Tool.

Pearl Jam are a band that has many, many hits... they're on that tier that actually do get to play whatever the hell they want and get away with it. From reading most people's responses to A Perfect Circle, disappointment was in abundance.

Hasn't had the greatest preseason so far, but the talent is obviously there. By the way, he was a second round draft pick (had to point it out in case he never does meet his potential).

B&F winner in 2011, what was the reason (if known) for his struggles? Injury, personal reasons or just perceived complacency?

Literally haven't heard about the guy since probably that B&F win, know more about Robbie Gray and he's been injured for a year!

Yes it's Moore that was taken first round, always get their draft positions mixed up.

Watched them for about 10 minutes, not knowing their songs my reaction was "what a bunch of self-indulgent *****". Wouldn't watch them if they were playing next door. And it was free. With free drinks. And a guaranteed root.

Another one from UWA. Haven't seen the great man himself yet, but a couple of Eagles rookies were in one of my classes last year.

I have never heard of most of the bands you guys are talking about...
And some of them have had a hit, apparently, according to the BF "music" experts.

Actually I saw 10 minutes of A Perfect Circle who I had been looking forward to seeing.

Imagine.

Wank.

Never again.

APC played imagine? lol, im speechless. Maynard has become a parody of himself.

Pity I couldnt catch up. Phones were ruined by about 2:30.

From w hat I saw:

Crossfaith - Excellent. Pretty cool wall of death and they were one of the most energetic bands for me

The Blackout - Saw them due to waiting for a couple of mates. Were surprisingly good, though was spewing I missed Kingdom of Sorrow

Anthrax - Not a fan of Belladonna and thought they had poor sound issues for most of their set. The drummer is a ****ing boss

Periphery - Their technical sound came off damn well. Three guitarists, all awesome. Love their front man. Great set. Genuine brawl in the moshpit after some twat reverse windmilled a chick after deciding he'd start his own circle pit with no room

Gallows - Loved it. Most ridiculous circle pit of all time. Really enjoyed Wade despite looking like a fat beardy w***er

While She Sleeps - One of the highlights. Played in front of a small crowd but they had just about the best live show for the day, the singer was fantastic, it was ****ing loud and ridiculously heavy. Great band about to do great things. Modern metal at its best

Shai Hulud - They look a bit of a mismatch of people but really enjoyed their set in front of about 30 people

Killswitch Engage - Right up on the front barrier pretty much dead middle. ****ing. Brilliant. Incredible set, incredible performance. Only downer was part of the front barrier broke which nearly caused a crush, meaning they had to stop their set for 10 minutes whilst repairs were made...kind of killed the momentum. But...set of the day for me. Was always going to be though

Vision of Disorder - Love this band. One of the real innovators of what modern metal sounds like. Sounded great but on reflection, it was a bit of a phoned in performance.

Metallica - Tight, great sound, awesome list. Brilliant.

Also saw minimum 3 songs of APC (BDO band, sounded shit), Of Mice & Men (Sounded tight, big crowd), Amity Affliction (huge crowd, sound mix was a bit off but you cant deny they are very good at what they do), Polar Bear Club (enjoyed it), Cancer Bats (took me till halfway through their set to make it over there after KE, they finished great), Blink (meh, as much as I like their hits, they are just a shitful live band, no more, no less).

I thought it was a great day. Only downside was stage 3 being almost kilometres out of the way of anything else and there was quite a bit of bleeding in between stages
