Yeah Lycett looked miles off the pace. Far too slow in pretty much everything he did

Scored free tickets (via a workmate who won them on triple crow) to BeachFest last night

Suprisingly was a good night - lots of great old tunes

When Ross Wilson belted out Eagle Rock I've never seen so many Bogons get excited all at the one time

Highlite was Jon Stevens (Noiseworks) massive Reach Out

Jimmy's voice was like an old Toyota Crown - took about 1/2 an hour to warm up but was nice and smooth thereafter

Two thumbs up :thumbsu::thumbsu:

More excited about season 3 of Game of Thrones than Port's first match at the moment.

Nerd.

This is my post of the year so far to be honest.

A story about Daniel Pearce

Back in 2010 I got pulled out of the crowd to be be the "face in the crowd" interviewed at half half
Scored some other free shit too which was all good

Got taken down to the bench just after quarter time in readiness

Could not believe how arrogant and disrepectful Perace was being - openly badmouthing other team mates and strutting around like he owned the place - ever since have not liked

Imagine what a destabilising force this would have then been over the next few years

Primus appears to have tried to reign him in but with little or no success

Maybe Ross Lyon is the coach he needs and maybe he has turned the corner, but I know that as a club we are better off without him

Daniel Pearce? Well, I'm not sure how much control Primus had over Footscray players, but apparently it didn't work for Will Minson either.

There have been more **** running Port Adelaide in the last few years than a GOT episode.

One week to go.

I for one have enjoyed how for once footy was talked on this thread not pointless shitty music videos

Went to Bruce Springsteen's 3 Sydney shows last week. At the start of his encore he thanks the crowd and then talks about how he has been involved with food banks for 30 years. He then gives a small speech about Foodbank NSW being the biggest provider of food to the poor in Sydney and helping to feed the hungry. Before and after the shows there are people from Foodbank with collection bugs and Bruce encourages all to make a donation to them.

In his Brisbane shows, he promoted OzHarvest who also collect food to distribute to the poor.

Spoke to KT in August about if he tours in 2013, as there were rumours at the time, that we should get Foodbank involved as I knew he had worked with the New Jersey foodbank and others around USA, since 1984, and see if we can get "the power to end hunger" line used as part of his foodbank involvement here. Also mentioned it to KT and Kochie at the AGM as the tour had been announced at the start of December.

Sent KT an email after Monday and Wednesday's shows and got a reply from him that guys at Foodbank SA are aware of his support. They might be able to get him to add to his speech at his 5 Victorian shows that adds "the power to end hunger" to his speech about Foodbank Vic.

You went to all three shows?

Yep plus the 1st of the 2 in Brisbane and going to the last one at Hanging Rock next Sunday after the Port v Melbourne game at the G.

That seems a little extreme?

That seems a little extreme?

Why?? In his 5 shows so far he has sung 63 different songs? you gotta go if you want to hear some of your favourite songs. he does about 25 songs per show, last Wednesday 27 and only 10 have been in all 5 shows.

Anyway it took him 12, 18 and 10 years to get here with his full band since his first album.( it was 12 years between 1985 band tour and 1997 solo tour).

it's cheaper to go to 5 shows here than fly to Europe or USA to watch one.

Did...did you make a statistical record of songs played at Bruce Springsteen concerts?

(Where is the venn diagram showing incidence of songs at concerts?)

He left for the same reasons that Shaun Burgoyne left - didn't want to put in the hard yards at a team that was going to struggle for the next few years, and instead went to pursue a premiership.

Harsh on Pearce.

Shaun Burgoyne had been carried to a premiership as a youngster by Port Adelaide, had been playing in a successful side for his whole career, and had a coach who not only gave him special treatment but openly publicly admitted to doing so. As soon as we had a couple of lean years and he didn't have Brendon Lade to spoonfeed him anymore he ran off to Hawthorn where he could lazily skulk around on a half back flank while allowing himself to be overtaken by far less talented but far harder working players like Liam Shiels.

Danyle Pearce spent 8 years with us while we were shit, had a coach who played him out of position and dropped him whenever he had a couple of lean weeks while handing out gold passes to spuds like Matt Thomas and Tom Logan, and had a supporter base and statewide media treating him like crap. Then he was offered a longer deal on more money at a club that has actually played in a few finals lately, and he took it. I don't blame him. If I was in his position, I would've taken it too.

Just dumped the set lists of the 5 shows from a set lists website, into a spread sheet and sorted them. That's enough. Although if I was smarter I would have just clicked the 2013 tour link below and it would have listed them all for me as he has only toured Oz in 2013.

This site has historical set lists for hundreds of artists.

A little bit unfair on Shiels there, but I agree with the rest.
