Doesn't look like much difference between the PS4 specs and the Xbox 1 specs. Considering developers found it easier to code for the 360 I'm loathe to jump ship until some decent ports for the PS4 come out. Unable to purchase used games is a bitch though. If that stays and the PS4 doesn't have it, I'll switch over.

The PS4 was built with plenty of developer feedback and will be using pc based architecture this time. Bad ports wont be a problem.

I played Space Invaders at the Blackwood Fish Shop in 1979.

It was a step up from the pinball machine at the Pizza bar down the road but I don't imagine much has changed in video games since then?

When I was growing up Greg Rowe (yes, he of Storm Boy and Blue Fin fame) was the undisputed king of Space Invaders at our local deli. He'd honestly clock the machine 10 times without losing a single life and then walk away 'cos he was bored. I'd clock the machine 4 times before "Bones" would start blowing cigarette smoke in my face to put me off.

I'll wait until E3 before deciding if the Xbox 1 is actually shit or not. Most likely they will both be very similar in terms of what they can deliver. Heck the PS3 is the superior hardware yet the 360 came out on top as the better gaming system.
That used game thing is still pissing me off though/ Wouldn't surprise me if Sony have it as well due to developer bitching. Anything that requires constant internet connection or some internet connection to start a game is shit and should be scrapped immediately. My connection was down for a week and I would of been stuck under that system.
Will have to wait until everything comes out for the PS4 before joining the sony fanbois.

I don't buy this view one bit.

The ps3 has a vastly superior selection of exclusives especially regarding the japanese game market, free online play, and a bluray player. I don't see any argument in favour of the 360 other than xbox live is better than PSN but you have to pay for that anyway.

That said, I just never liked the 360 controller. The D-Pad is just useless on that thing.

While PS3 is my preference, because I like not having to pay for Live and dealing with 8 RROD's (yes that happened), once you have purchased your selected console and are happy with it why would you care what anyone else plays? Why would you care what other people think about the console you are playing and happy with? Console wars are ****ing stupid. Normally a sign of personal insecurities.

I have a particular hatred of xbox because all my friends bought it in school, and laughed at me for suggesting the ps3 would be better. I said that the xbox was better than the ps2 for about a year but after 5 years the ps2 was superior by a factor of infinity, and that the next gen would follow the same path. By the time the ps3 was better no one cared anymore (and I wasn't friends with any of them) so I never got my "I told you so" moment.

So yeah, its a "he mad" moment.

Also I used to love angry joe until I realised he only plays xbox... then I realised how much of a noob he was and haven't really watched one of his videos since. (It also had something to do with him defending transformers 2 as a good movie)

It looks like Sony has bent to the will of the developers by using a x86 architecture so the XBox One and PS4 will be very close specs wise. I think the main difference is the Xbox will use Direct X graphics and the PS4 will use Open GL.

So essentially the difference will be jack diddley squat. Just fan bois posting close ups of trees in the background pointing out shading differences or something else no one even notices when playing.
I doubt there will be many exclusives for either consoles anymore. Makes no sense for developers to restrict there product to one console when they can make a heap off of both, especially for AAA titles.
Even if another Mass Effect of Gears of War pops up, it will be multi platform before you know it. Everyone will be playing the same thing with a different badge by the end.
