I'm aware of that. The creators of Frontline basically saw Larry Sanders and said "let's do exactly that but base it around a current affairs show instead of a late night talk show".

So? Still works.

I recently watched all 6 seasons of Hogan Heroes ....
A clever show and a bit darker with the Nazi stuff than you realise if like me you watched them as a kid. The Yanks churned out a whole raft of these themed comedy shows at the time. Batman, Munsters, Addams Family, Beverley Hillbillies, Bewitched etc. and seemed to have a high success rate. Then they forgot how to make decent comedy shows for about 20 years.
.... I think that is how I judge shows, by how they sit watching them outside their production era ...
Exactly. So many shows people rave about from the 60s through the 80s are unwatchable now. Benny Hill, The Goodies, all but the latter series of Get Smart, Cheers, Dads Army etc.

Except for the fact the entire format and concept was ripped off from The Larry Sanders Show.
Frontline was far better. Fair enough The Larry Sanders Show was original (as far as I know) but it was just a niche thing.

Return to Eden. Ok it was meant to be drama but James Reyne mumbling through a lead role, inept crocodiles, a kindly hermit prospector/bush doctor, a brilliant plastic surgeon and an unlikely transformation of frumpy houswife chewed up by crocodiles into a supermodel ... it was pretty funny.

Frontline was awesome
The Hollowmen was alright
Utopia was awful
I didn't find Utopia that bad, although certainly not a patch on Frontline, but that may be that at one time or other I have worked with all of the characters in that show.

The year Ray Martin and Jana Wendt won best male and female talent respectively, said it all.

I wasn't aware of this fact.

Thanks for ****ing up my day.

I literally have no idea who Jana Wendt is.
The only Wendt I know is Oscar Wendt, a Borussia Monchengladbach fullback.

Frontline was good but Larry Sanders was excellent.

Frontline and Larry Sanders being before my time - are they like 'On The Hour' which I've seen a few eps of?
You mean 'The Day Today,' the Chris Morris news spoof? Based on the radio show, 'On The Hour?' Nah, Frontline and Larry Sanders are more behind the scenes, character and plot driven, whereas The Day Today is more a sketch show presented as a news program (and much, much funnier).

That's right. I looked it up since I couldn't remember the name and the description on wiki for 'On The Hour' looked right when reading shorthand lol.

The cold never bothered me anyway

My 3yo is obsessed with Frozen. Went mental at the pageant this morning when she heard the band playing Let It Go.

I shook the hand of the guy that did the voice of Olaf. That makes me a god to your children.
